wane, 14 Dec 2008pls i want to know why some files i downloaded when i was u... morei upgraded to V30.0.019 for about a month ago at Nokia service centre and it is fine. mine can open zip. sis. sisx. and many more. what i think is that you jumped from V1 to V3. mine is fine because before my n82 was V2 and mine is the Black version.

iolo003, 14 Dec 2008dude.. how much is the senheiser there in cebu, im curious ... moreThe Sennheiser MX500 headset costs 2,400 pesos at Ayala and I bought it at the Apple i-Store but I don't know if they still have this headset as I bought it last December 2007. And the Sennheiser HD205 headphone, sorry I do not know the price of it since my Aunt gave it to me together with the Nokia 5220. But don't worry, I'll try to ask her when she'll be back from Manila. =) Or if not, I'll try to check the price at the stores here at Ayala.

pls i want to know why some files i downloaded when i was using v1.0 cannot be opened as i jumped to v30.
files such as zip,exe,sisx,jad always warn 'file not supportted even up to emtube videos,pls what can i do about it? or is it one of the disadvantage of v30,if so i suggest to anyone moving from any version to v30 should think cos v30 is high in file restriction.so you may not be able to reverse it.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Using the stock headset you won't see any difference..i use Sennheiser CX300... i noticed a great improvement of sound quality, bass and volume with v30 firmware... The sound is as great or even better than ipod or iphone... You will be amazed... N82 is a great phone and with the last firmware it has come even better...

tex of 50-100 msg
2 short calls
music player, an hour or two
nokia email - whole day
surf web - an hour
battery last for 2 days with v30

There's no change on the Music Stand because the bass is not that strong. Only through the headset where the bass is improved and so is the volume.

There's no change on Audio Quality through the Music Stand because I use our home stereo speakers quite a lot and have never found some changes on its quality.. And with the headset, hmmmm... I cannot exactly tell. I'm using a Sennheiser MX500 (an average quality headset with nicely pronounced bass) and a Sennheiser HD205 (nice sound quality headphones). And yes, I agree with you that the bass went deeper and meaner most especially using the "Bass Booster" equalizer but that's just through the headset but for me, its really not that ground-breaking because I only need average bass anyway (and anyone can argue with it if "Bass" is important to them). And also, music playback time and the volume through headset is improved. Other than that, the other musical elements like the reverberation of sound didn't show serious changes based on my observation through the HD205 headset (just my observation).
By the way, to all N82 users, vote triple 10 for this Nokia N82. I want to see it on top 3 again.

But really v30 impr0ves like what iolo003 said. If you kn0w how to tweak equaliser to a really dist0rting one you will n0tice that v30 has lesser dist0rti0n. I myself owned a 5700 bef0re and we kn0w that 5700 trademark is clarity. But n82 is n0t far with that with v30. S0mebody c0rrect if im wr0ng.

Hello guys. Is it true that the sound quality of the N82 on the v.30 firmware is really improved? I think not. Just honestly speaking, the audio quality of the N82 is not changed at all. It is really the same with v.20 firmware. But of course, what we should consider as HUGE advantage here is that, with v.30, the battery in almost all departments, which includes music playback, is significantly improved. And about that Music Stand option, well I have used that option even though I've connected a headset eversince v.20 and I've played with it for quite a while both on the v.20 and v.30 firmware versions and again blatantly speaking, there's no change on the audio quality at all. Maybe perhaps the volume is slightly upscaled on the v.30 but hey, the audio quality remains the same.
But then again, the N82 in my opinion is having good enough sound quality and will by no means disappoint you. Thanks.
