dear sir johndru

not all 6233's are the same as your 6233...

fyi...6233's speaker does not in anyway distort even at max level

something is wrong with your unit perhaps...but that doesnt mean all of the 6233's speakers "suck"...

Now what happens with N82. The situation is like, If I want a dimmer screen, it's already there. But if I want a brighter screen, sorry i'm not allowed to have it. That's just sick. If they haven't restricted it and let it just glow it's lighting to the max. Adjusting the setting wouldn't have been a problem to me if I want a dimmer screen. Although hacking it or installing third-party software might do the trick. It's still a shame Nokia isn't the one who acted on this matter when they should have. And what's more, if you want a brighter screen you have to go through all through this fuss of third-party applications eating up your ram just to brighten the screen or hacking it which doesn't sound really exciting to me.
    What do you think?

johndru, 01 Nov 2008the dual speaker of 6233 SUCKS. i had it before and we you ... moreto johndru:

That's what just the fuss is all about previously. The restriction of backlighting of the screen. And i'm gonna be so straight-forward to tell you that it is a frigging sick idea. You said it's the way to go as dimmer lighting won't go hard on your eyes. That's your preference, other people prefer that too. Some people in the other hand want their screens to be so bright. Consumers, on their stand, must have their options. Now what I think about it is that NOKIA thought putting it that way would be better for more people. The purpose is good but the means were inappropriate. You get it? They thought that people would like the dimmer screen because it will bear lower power consumption and it won't go hard on your eyes.

It's good that they thought about what people want but it's just not what it is. You get it? If I want a dimmer screen I could lower the settings myself and if I want a brighter screen I should be able to get it too. Consumers should always have the options, and we don't need NOKIA making the decisions for us.
      You get my point now?

The situation of N82 is not hardware limitation or manufacturing fault.

It is "restriction", and restrictions are sick marketing ideas.

Anonymous, 01 Nov 2008n81 is the nseries that has the closest sound quality in co... morethe dual speaker of 6233 SUCKS. i had it before and we you put it on the max volume, sound is REALLY REALLY distorted. i don't compress my mp3s so my songs will never be the reason why sound is distorted at max. i've compared it with other 6233 and the result is the same.

          anyway,
i think the low backlight of n82 is a bad idea. it's more of a better idea since our eyes will not get strained compared to when you have n95 or n81.

Sandwich, 31 Oct 2008should i buy this phone or n79? whats the major drawback 4 ... moreBoth phones dont really have any major drawbacks. The n82 is a bit stronger in the camera department. The n79 is more fashion (and slightly music) oriented, although it has a good camera as well like the 6220c. It just depends on what you want. But what i know is that n82 is definitely a good phone on all fronts.
Wait for the n79 review which should be out next week, but most of the users in the n79 havent really reported any major problems so far.

N82 can record video, its same as 120fpm in my standard, more than enough for me to view tv quality video..so n82 can do what innov8 can do

N82 can play good ngage games and yes 3D games up to 30fpm, more than that in my own standard, does it matter, my life doesnt evolve on playing games all the time rather, n82 can do what innov can do

n82 can produce top notch and decent images, yes, yes, im my standard

n82 can produce decent sounds that suites my taste, is it sonic? more than just sonic for me thats because my life doesnt evolve in that rather

i love watching divx movies in my n82, is it the best quality, yes in my standard

since i answer yes in all your questions, i can freely say than i can do anything innov8 can do in my n82.. if you dont agree with me then thats your problem

moral lesson, hapiness of a person cannot be measured by counting benchmarks etc, its more than that.. next time keep ur benchmark points on ur own because we have different benchmarks in life.

                        anymore question?

Got this comment from Cute Guy from... moreu said, "their are nothing that innov8 can do that the mighty n82 cant do and its cheaper by a mile". can n82 record videos at 120fps? can n82 play games with graphics accelerating up to 30fps? can n82 produce higher resolution images with better quality? can n82 offer top notch sonic experience? can n82 play movies with superior quality both on device screen and via tv-out? if you can answer "YES" to all those questions, i might agree with you that there is nothing that innov8 can do that n82 cant do.

                                  Well,

let's just put it this way. The INNOV8 would surely not have mercy on your pocket. For the sake of practicality I don't think going for i is advisable just for the handful of upgrades it offers over N82. Just go for it only if you really need it. As I've said, it depends on what you prefer. But for those seeking an opinion of which phone is better especially for it's price. It's N82 definitely.

                                      to celladik:

uhm well, I can't really say what the differences are, It's my first time to use light control and I've jumped straight up to v 1.25. I haven't used the v1.20. But from what you're saying, I suspect one difference now. You said you seldomly use light control? Well, in v 1.25. The application keeps running. So when you use it, the only way to terminate it is to remove the application. It becomes the primary control system of your display lighting. But I'm not sure if the v1.20 doesn't behave that way. I haven't used v1.20. I just inferred from your statement. Anyway, maybe you should try it, the link is posted by someone below. hehe.. Look it up bro and try it.

                                      to everyone:
whoa.. what's the fuss all about? Yeah of course. I can't deny the INNOV8 is more advanced. But the upgrades it offers over N82 are rather, for me, not practical. N82 offers excellent performance enough. Even more for me. By the way, Jbenchmarks tests do not determine which phone is better. It determines which phone is faster in processing different areas.. Keep that in mind. However, everyone has their own preferences. The INNOV8 is more advanced but you can't really speak for everybody when you say which phone is better. Whether you need the extra 3 megapixels or a stronger xenon flash or a little of this or that should tilt the scales this way or the other. It depends sololy on the user preference. No need to fuss over about.
