The only way you can prevent N82 from having scratches is you don't take it out of the box and don't use it. My friend has a black N82. It's only 5 months old but the scratches make it look like 3 years old. Yes, N82 has almost the same functions of my N95 8GB but the actual user experience is better on N95 8GB. N82 feels cheap to hold in hand. It's like an N95 dressed in cheap looking plastic. No offense, but I hate it.

Bizo is correct. Every phone has its own pros and cons, for sure data transfer in n95 8gb is slower because we know that nokia uses usb 2.0 unlike n82 you have your own options to transfer data in a card reader for faster connection...
But in the end its up on what you prefer.. Good luck

N82 has xenon flash, but camera quality is the same as n95 8gb, n95 8gb has bigger screen, but not better then N82!!! Overall, N82 and n95 8gb has the same functions, every has it's pros and cons. In my opinion N82 BLACK looks much better and I recommend you to buy N82 black. From now...it's your decision. Good luck!!!

I need freedom to expand if u know what i mean. i would be stuck with 8gb forever!!!! nah i dont want that. & am ok with 2.4 inches screen. so i think am gonna get the black n82. but 1st i have to spend sometime rotating my 5700's keypad then make my purchase!!! lol thanks guys!!!

ok since I have the n95 8gb and n82, here are my comments. For looks n95 8gb win because it has a huge screen. Sound wise,if you listen with the headset the n82 win cause it has a good bass to it. but if you listen from the speaker the n95 8gb win cause the sound from its speakers are very loud and clear. If Im gonna choose which phone I like, It will be N82, here why:
1. expandable memory. Very important to me. Not like the n95 8gb. Youre stuck with the 8gb.
2. Camera. I guess everyone knows already that the n82 takes an awesome picture.
3. Bar phone. I know that the n95 has a bigger screen but in the long run the slider will wear out. Bar phone will last for a long time since it didnt have any moving mechanism.
Thats all my input. It really up to your preference.

I have no regret after bought it. You might go for N95 as well, both 82 and 95 are awesome! But you may need to take eyes on N95's slider..one of my friend own the N95, have a minor problem with the slider.
But if you look into their features (satisfied), camera (5 mp) and performance (fast), i would said both of them are equal, trust me. The only matter that u might look into; is the price and ur own prefered design.
N82: Lower price, excellent performance, camera and beauty sound quality, 2.4 inch screen (satisfied, we are not old man)
N95: Higher price, excellent cellphone, 2.6 inch screen, minor slider problem after some period.
If looks into the phone's manufacturing material, yes, N95 is better than N82. Hey man, understand ur requirement and make your smart choice ;)
(we don't pay extra few hundred dollar just for 0.2 inches larger screen, and raise our risk on slider phone, better material? Come on, we are not going to smack our phone everywhere ;) N82 is not a cheap phone, instead, it was smart choice.) Don't think! Just get urself N82 once the sun raised tomorrow! =)

I'm not just... moreyou have a point. n82's kind of plasticky. it pisses me off everytime i see new scratches emerge from my phone's surface. i think there's nothing that can be done about it. scratches are more visible in black than in silver. no matter how careful you are, you can't prevent your n82 from accumulating such spoilage.

I'm not just... moreif u want to speak about overall performance then n96 is excellent in every aspect, even from n95-8gb! but if u want to speak about camera then still n82 is the best in the best... & other performane of n82 is the same as n95-8gb.

I'm not just talking about camera alone but overall performance, design, screen, battery, memory, hardware media keys and build quality. I mean I would not trade my N95 8GB for N82 just because of the Xenon flash alone. N95-1 with the latest firmware has same battery life as N82. So if you can get the N95 8Gb, I don't think you'll regret it as much as I don't. By the way, I once had a N95-1 but I traded it for N95 8Gb and build quality of N95 8gb is much much better than N95-1. And N95 8GB also has better build and construction than N82 even if it's a slider. What I hate about N82 is, yes it's cheaper in price, but the design, build and materials used in N82 are also cheap.

I doubt i will go for N95 because i don't like a slider phone and the battery life is better on n82 the screen is fine with me a little smaller. External parts are just fine the important is what is inside, if many thinks that n82 and n95 are of the same hard much better, poor quality you are referring is in the external? am i right?
