Some are made in china they still go through quality testing,,my p990i was made in france my k750i in china.. MOST of the attacchments earfones batterys nearly all china made it does not make difference..My k750i superb ,,p990i terrible?????
I also do not believe xenon flash story,,most needs 100 volts to activate and this is done by voltage doublers that charge then discharge in one flash,,the voltage doublers used to whistle in old flash units as they charged the capacitor they may still do...
This is not as good as my dads cannon camcorder but its a superb effort ,,it might not be good at macro but for clarity,,smoothness and playback on tv you cannot get a mobile better..its only vga remember just short of dvd quality but if you capture something worth sending to news it wont embarrass you in quality and resolution...
Have just started using opera a few weeks back and thats why i could not get yahoo to download it says to use fones in built browser..Opera is just so fast at loading then put square over area to browse press 5 to zoom,,bingo...

i just got my n82 and it says its made in china but i called nokia and gave them the IME number to check if its original and they said it was and i wanted some feed back please advise thanks

I checked se k810, k850, samsung g600, g800 photoes, n95, n95 8gb, and found that my n82 can photo better than all of those that i just named!Better than n95, n95 8gb - a bit, but xenon at night does all!k850, g600,g800 - my carl zeiss, tessar 2,8-5,6 does better photoes, maby g800 have 3x optical zoom, but i'm impressed by n82... i had n95, n73,n93, kg920, k810, k800 phones, sawed n95 8gb, k810, g800, but n82 creates better photoes!Also n82 creates video of television standart, and have tv out, so i just filmed video, and went to look it per tv-out look great!The one thing that i don't like that "image stabilisation" could work better... all works fine, no lag(as n95 8gb - 128mb ram, arm 11 ~350mhz...), nokia n95,n93,n73,n80 lags much higher! My nokia n82 runs ~like nokia s40! So this phone is amazing!Symbian, not lag, n95 functions+xenon+battery... not so big, not so fat... 2gb memory included, and there's another thing that i don't like, n82 have bad earphones included, i wish to buy another...

To those who complain about the video quality of this phone: Man this is a phone afterall. How can u expect it to hav everything in it and everything the best. If anyone has used much hyped iphone amongst u will tell u how good a device n82 is. Iphone cant shoot movies at all. Iphone has bluetooth only for headphone. I phone speakers are a shame etc etc.
I dont find any serious problem wit this device although their is margin for improvement always. We shd appreciate this phone and strive to find better ways of criticism instead of imagining.
Someone had written that xenon flash can b enabled while shooting a video. Can that gentleman explain us how.
By the way i updated to the latest version op opera mini 4.1 yesterday. It rocks. I advise all to update.

IF you were buying the n82 from a network carrier then you would know its real so you must be buying sim free/unlocked ...Why dont you email nokia direct from their website,state exactly were your from and tell them about the 2 package retail boxes in your area you have seen..Nokia should be able to tell you but my opinion is that my retail box is pushing the navigation features and giving you 3 months free voice guidance and thats on the 2gb sdhc card...So not having the card does seem a bit suspect but could be perfectly real n82..I bought mine sim free £399.99 from carfone warehouse in uk,,the box is in a seperate sleeve made of cardboard and has lots of people and pigeons on it with words "let nokia n82 show you the way"on the back is 27 country names and in their language it specifys the 3 months trial but its europe model made in finland and n82-1 on it..Thats all i have to offer

I'll ask again, in case no one has seen my previously post. I need opinions:
Could somebody tell me if there's really a number of retail packages on N82?
I mean, in our country N82 sells either with a 2GB card ($480), or with no card ($360). I fear that the one with no card could be a scam!
Could you give me a link, that points to the types of retail packages, so I can see that those types really exist?

Been to apps manager and only 9 themes listed,,i noticed this a few years ago that not all showed up but just dis missed it...Quite curious about the hidden bit and am going to look into this...
Symbian is a huge system and when a new update is issued its quite a challenge as the team operating it do have a lot to sift thru and this is what led to a few people being a bit suspicious when the n95-1 had a very quick uodate soon after launch..Things will get even more complex because at this moment i am lead to believe that these new high tech games for sony ps3 are taking 150 persons 5 years to fully develop test and complete..They also are saying that gesture control using accelorometers is still in its infancy yet..WHO are these people?? well they pop up om bbc click programme and documentrys and emails i recieve..I am waiting for the new 10x longr batterys using nano tech and brighter leds plus large flash memory..With this lot of power saving power will last longer

Xenon Flash can be turned on like a torch for Video Recording at Night / Dark Places.
The video recording is good even at night, due to this facility.
However keeping the Xenon Flash on for too long can dry up the battery very fast.

dude its not that ur phone is infected with virus....this is a very common problem encounteres on s60 3 ed dis happens when u install more than 10 themes so d themes which u have installed later wont b shown in app manager d only way to delete this theme s to connect ur phone in data transfer mode there is a hidden folder called private in order
next search for a folder 10207114
in this der will b a folder called import in dat u will find all ur theme files

n82's camera works pretty well with a xenon flash.bt i think d video recording is nt that good especially at night..it doest even have a light for night recording..

Where did you save your theme? coz mine is on memo card, and of course when you install a theme it will reflect on the app manager, but some of my theme won't shown up on app manager especially the 10th one, and it will erase automatically. So do you think my phone is infected by virus?

I have 22 themes + original nokia themes on n82...Some themes are great but unusable as they interfere with txt a lot in most apps..

to jkvd the big post,,
i have tried numerous attempts to turn off phone with red button and i am right you cannot ,,your thinking of series 40..I find some of you requests odd and never thought of most of them,,why would you gps co-ordinate a telephone number or calender entry.I am studying the rest of your opinion,,to understand some of your queries..Remember most smartfones can be updated with apps but thats not your point,,i have complained since n3650 that symbian series 60 still has no stopwatch/timer even tho i have emailed nokia and you should do same thing as maybe nokia cannot think of all aspects OR palm psion "as it was" may hold patents on some things i dont know???
I think gps is still a bit gimmicky in mobiles yet and weak which is down to cost & battery..I dont know how windows mobiles are doing i am not up to date on them, but,, some are using the sirfstar 111 chip and have a bigger catalogue and wonder if you asked posted the post below in their forum they may have an answer,, not much compensation if you have bought n82,,

this is a great phone, major defect is the battery life compared to my previous SE W800. Else N82 is even better than N95 8g which have no camera lens cover nor xenon flash.

thanks father vince for explaining where the multimedia button is situated
one more thing...in the multimedia menu, is it the same as the n95?...You know the pictures in the background while going thru different applications and stuffs
and can you also decorate it?
I reckon in n95...putting pictures in the multimedia menu gave it a cool blurry animated effect...is it the same for n82?
