Hello readers you know N85 is the second phone from NOKIA which has OLED display, first was 7900 PRISM which was only 2.0 inches 240 X 320 resolution. the only difference in N85 is 2.6 inches but the same old 240 X 320 resolution.
NOKIA please dont stick to QVGA resolution,go for VGA or WVGA resolution for your next N-series phone...

      N85 tips from Cyprus.

      Power Saver Date Display
Currently only on Nokia N85, you can illuminate the time and date permanently during power saver, instead of using backlight dim on the other phones. On most phones, you have to press a button to see the time. You can see it is more visible on the Nokia N85. This setting can be found at Tools - Settings - General - Personalization - Themes - Power Saver - Date.

      Transitions and Animations
The menu transitions and animations are off by default. The setting to turn it isn’t that obvious to find and buried through numerous submenus. To turn it on, go to Tools - Settings - General - Personalization - Themes - General - Options - Theme Effects - ON. Whew! I can’t believe how hard that was to find!

          Hi all.
The video recording is nagging. Just look at the video in this review. My old N93 is far better on video recording and playback. If this doesn't bother you N85 is just great value for the money.

          Mine N85 is going back :-( (N96?)

Saying Nokia sucks without a reason is pointless. I have used LG, Samsung, SE, Motorola, Blackberry, Apple, and finally Nokia. I give Samsung and Nokia two thumbs up. Finding the right phone is almost like finding the right haircut. Sometimes it takes awhile to get use to and sometimes it's just downright awful.

I had this phone for only 2 weeks. It is build very cheap out of plastic, it slide but is not build sold and nice like N95 or INNOV8. the Battery cover in the back after while start feeling lose. Battrey life is avarage nothing to complain. But if you no use it and even have it off after few days Battrey go down. Also the phone look cheap speicaly if the light in front off and push bottoms in front not easy to use.

Now, I have the N79 it is okay except at night the key board light up but the light is not strong enough to light up the whole key board. I do also owen INNOV8 which so far have no problem with it.

Does this still have the slow zoom problem they mentioned in the review? Does this phone have worse sound performance than the N81? I want to get a phone mainly to use for multimedia perposes i.e. music and video's. Will it be worth it?

                            what a shame....
the counter sound and earphone sound of n85 is lower than nokia e71.
even n85 have a stereo speakers, and e71 have only one.
plz nokia your n85 is a music based phone and its sound ,lower than from a bussines series phone.
i think you forget your tech. to making a good and
loud sound like, the one and only NOKIA N91

I am useing Nokia N85 From last 15 days. i think if r thinking u want to bye nokia n96 but it is of very high budget than you sud bye this phone.

it is diffrent form n96 at only 3 point only.

                              N96:
                              - harddrive of 24GB
                              - Dual ARM 9 264 MHz CPU
                              - Display: Type TFT, 16M colors
                              Size 240 x 320 pixels, 2.8 inches

                              N85:
                              - No Hard Drive only 8GB Nokia card for free.
                              - ARM 11 369 MHz processor
                              - Display: Type OLED, 16M colors
                              Size 240 x 320 pixels, 2.6 inches

There is no more diffrence both phone.

There are some plus point in N85 like

more battery backup [( 30 hrs. Music playback time and 6.50 min TT) in N96 ( TT only 3.40 min and Music play back time dont know)]

                              There are some drowback like

                              - it will restart in 1 time in week
                              - slow sound output in spekar. but hansfree d best.

I think its not too big phone in size. its best in use. if you r thinking for this phone than just dont wait. go fast and bye it.

                              ITS BEST PHONE

I must say that the new nokia N-lineup are poorly built. Had this phone for 2 days and I returned it. My unit had defective speaker, and my main problems with this phone (or probably all new N-lineup) are the plasticky quality and pressing the buttons required some effort.

In other words, we need an N something that's a little slimmer, but not too much. It must have a large screen, a great camera with lens cover (of course). Be able to play many formats, have on board memory and external. Must have great speakers and excellent battery life. Wow if they built that wouldn't everybody buy it?

Nokia as made a little mistake with the N85 as you are suppose to show improvement from the previous model to show it worth upgrading to the there new phone, the N95 8gb is the Best model they have produced for a bit but the N85 is not able to compete in the camera an speaker section but just wins on the batterey,so will keep my N95 8gb until we see what Nokias going to offer soon or early 2009
