oled display on s60 is until just recently. n85 which has it is not yet even released. so understandbly, n96, which was in process of being developed into finished product months ago, does not have oled display. same holds true for fm transmitter. nokia has not yet acquired fm transmitter chips before n96 was created. naviwheel on n96 is deactivated in the firmware but n96 has the naviwheel hardware. maybe in the next major firmware update after the bugs are fixed they will activate the naviwheel. i've read also that n96 has 950mah battery because during the time n96 was being made, 1200mah or any larger battery was not yet available. it only means that n96 was first made before n95 8gb. it just took so long to develop this device into finished product. that's why n96 is kinda outdated right now.

no FM transmitter, OLED display and navi wheel for 96
N96 has all the features of all Nseries from N70 to N95 8Gb ?????

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970N96 has no FM transmitter because at the time when Nokia was developing this device, they hadn't acquired FM transmitters yet. N78 got released first but actually that device was developed later than N96. That also explains why N96 has 950mah battery only. N96 was developed prior to the release of N95 8GB. It took years for the development of N96 before it was released.
Mariah Carey has the greatest voice in music, has the most number 1 singles, is the sixth richest female celebrity. So don't diss her!

Sony Ericsson w902 definately beat the update version of both N85 and N79..coz SE w902 is first walkman phone comes with 5mp pixel camera and it has the same w980 walkman equalizers.w980 is recently got the Best audio Experience..its tested by german factory..and w902 provide 8gb m2 card..

i had an N80 and it was neither music or games. The N9x series do come with the 1st of every tech that comes out but it gets transfered to the N8x series when the technmology is developed and fully trusted. N8x is a jack of all trades but master of none and thats why im sticking to them.

N85 is named N85 because N8x is just an improved version of an N9x, in the case of N85, it's an improved N95. N85 has a certain market niche - Music and Gaming, that is.

many of my friends are waiting for N85 which will be available in malaysia very soon (should be available bout 2 weeks from now). We are so stuck into Nokia Nseries since we started off with N90 few years back. Heard that N85 will be selling below RM 3k. based on the info gathered, this will the highlight for Nokia in the closing of 2008! it's a re-sized N96 with better features a part from the 16GB build in memory. It's a 'great value' model with lots of expectation! cant wait to experience the 'OLED' display screen and the N-Gage games with it... My up coming champion phone!

I have a question. why should aI worry about what number the phone is given? I can see Nokia's idea of naming N96 for the one with most tec model and N85 for the music tec phone.

if u have clear eyes. why don't you read and compare the specs of this two phones?
the bottom line is, Nokia N85 is the best amongts of all Nseries.
I think nokia did a big mistake, naming it Nokia N85. this one should be the Nokia N96. and Nokia's FLAGSHIP.
