Something was running in background,,or
third party app causing trouble,,or
you installed stuff on c-disk and its very low,,or
somethings eaten up your RAM..
To run slow is usually bad app or youve just about run out of RAM but just enuf RAM left to stop the o/s closing down an app to free up RAM..Anyway it does seem odd and its a shame thats happened to you and could prove that there are fones out there with different qualitys in build??

I ... moreyes there was a charging problem in the early firmware but thats all been rectified now,,MY mass memory has about 3.3 GB left and i have 14.3 GB used on 16GB memory card and have no slow issues at all ..It did take some time to refresh my 3012 mp3 and takes a few seconds to open up music player..The images/videos does take a while to open and scrolling thru images/videos does vary but thats the same with most fones..
Mine is uk t-mobile indigo on v20..

I have had alot of nokia phones, s60 & s40 software. I had a 4gb mem card in phone, never used more than 1 app at a time, Only 2-3 messages in inbox at 1 time, lots of space left on mem card, for me this was very slow, 10 secs to open message which is too long when all you want to do is read it quick!!! Took ages to open up files in gallery, when opening pics it was like waiting for paint to dry, i have sold mine on.
My husnabd had the black version within 3 weeks the speaker broken & the charging bars would not go past 2 after fully charged & it would continue charging with no charger in it.
after having 2 of this model & both having probs within weeks i don't reccom this phone at all.
1 was from Nokia uk & the other 1 o2 uk

may i know n86 inbox can store how many messages?? or it is based on the memory card??? duel to my sony ericsson phone is limit to 1000 message...so that i wanted to change n86

hi.this is my first nokia mobile.after sum dissaster phone from sonyericsson i preffered to go to nokia.i am really pleased to have it.camera is good.battery life is good .wifi feature and 3g conectivity.size is pretty good with dual slider.phone itself is full of feature.i have dis from last 9 month never have problem never let me down.never crashes or hang,i dropped it many time but belive me nothing happen to it. just little bit scratches tts all.so i recomend to all people who want to buy.its a excellent device.

Their is nothing wrong with n86..Any probs could be due to third party apps/themes not n86..I am using third party themes that seem to cause most of my problems on other devices too ie e72 ..
When i read some comments in nokia forums i feel that SOME do not understand the symbian o/s and thats not your fault when you buy a smartfone you shoul be warned of its power and learning curve..I can see how the comment is structured and that SOME dont understand all its quirks and all the tips and tricks and settings to make the most of the device..The thing is i went thru the learning curve in 2003 and now very familiar with o/s but others pick up the fone and dont know what to do with it and i could not explain it all on here you just learn over time so its not an over night job..I still say that these smartfones should come with a warning and more guidance but the trouble is the manual would be hundreds of pages long..
PHOTOS/vids/video recording with real digital zoom/audio thru headfones/speed/call quality are in the excellent range and using this all day and needing a nightly recharge is common now for most smartfones..

been using this for 4 months. My only complain is the battery life... Which i somehow solved a little... IN Symbian, There is a known bug in phones that has camera covers... YOU SHOULD EXIT THE CAMERA FIRST THEN CLOSE THE CAMERA COVER. If you just closed the camera cover w/o exiting it, it will just run in the background draining your battery... Mine lasts for 2 days... With equal usage of Camera, Wifi, games, texting, calling... When i use the camera heavily it only last for like half or 1 day only..w/c kinda sucks a bit... But hopefully firmware should fix that...

w995 is java phone but n86 symbian s60v3 so in programs and games and every other support n86 is better . . . !
N86 screen's AMOLED . . . !
Carl zeis wide range camera . . . !
ARM 11 434 MHz processor . . . !
And many more difference which shows n86 is too higher . . . !

Hi...thinking of getting one of these. When you receive a SMS text,does it reveal the sender's ID or,like the N95 does it just say "1 message received"? Can anyone help? Thanks

Josh your right. it's about two month i have this phone with no Problem . . . !
yesterday as i was running my phone felt down on the ground and gone 3 stairs down after it. and nothing have happened to my phone but an scratch on it's case.it's too small and nothing have happened on it's screen.
I still don't believe . . . !
That's something i like the most about nokia . . . !
