Here in Romania you can get contract-free with 295 euros. Looking forward for the next firmware... (on 6303 they reached v.1o,1o)

my cost around 450 US DOLLAR. satisfied with features and performance bt unsatisfied with build quality. i hate the shaky slider.

OK guys, lets try somthin nice, every body pastes the price he bought his N86 (new or used) and say wether satisfied or not and mention any pros pr cons.Well i got my self a one....
I`ll start with me:
360 us dollars(new-unlocked)- Satisfied.
8mp with software update even gets better, an allround high-end symbian phone.

To anyone who says the nokia N86 audio quality on this phone is terrible, is widely mistaken, to get the best out of the music player set all the bars of the graphic equalizers to full, also in audio settings have bass booster an stereo widening set to on, also use a quality pair of headphones, earphones or earplugs, not the ones supplied with the phone as the are useless,im using the earplugs i got with my sony ericsson w980 as they are very good, an wala you will have an a amazing mp3 player with awesome sound quality, in my eyes the N86 renders all standalone mp3 players not required.

The phone has some good features but also some quality issues. I have had the phone 3 months after trading up from a nokia N95.
Build quality is not great. 3 weeks into ownership dust starting appearing under the screen, likely entering through the ear piece or openings in the phone. The phone seller advised that this was because I kept the phone in my pocket. Has continued to get worse. The screen is useless in any sunlight regardless of the dust issue. In normal light dust in the screen is only noticeable when the phone is sleeping / not active. For such a high end phone this is very disappointing.
E-mail set up is good with the phone determining your account settings, although it does not function properly for 2nd e-mail addresses, you can send and receive e-mail but the additional e-mail account it cant be displayed on the home screen.
The camera is quite good but is still not as a good as a compact digita camera especially at night. While the lens cover is good it does store dirt and eventually makes marks on the lens no matter how carefully you are but I guess its better than no cover at all.
Functionally a big improvement over the Nokia N95 which I had two off but the dust inside the screen so early on is unacceptable. After having so many high end Nokia's (as well as trying the iphone and Imates) I may have to give Samsung a try.

sea-breeze, 01 Jan 2010am just wondering why me only get photos below 1.5MB and mo... morehey just an hour ago i updated my phone to v20. the phone has become very fast even when using theme effects. i experienced sum bugs. like slownes wen using auto rotate with theme effects on. n not able to fast forward in landscape mode in realplayer. this bugs dont bother much. n coming to the pic quality. i clicked night photos n it went upto 2.1 MB. i wil check out the day time photos tomorow since rit now its night here in my place. but i personely dont like the new focus.

Wazomba, 01 Jan 2010@sea-breeze, i updated my N86 to v20.115 when i first got i... moream just wondering why me only get photos below 1.5MB and mostly below 1MB ?!!! alot of ppl here get 3MB and above and sure they get much better quality than i does ! although am on V20 too ...

sea-breeze, 01 Jan 2010hi man ! i've tried everything and again never passed 1.5... more@sea-breeze, i updated my N86 to v20.115 when i first got it about 3 weeks ago, most of my day photos are over 2mb but night photos are below 2mb, im not to bothered tho coz i didn't get the N86 just for the camera i got i for the other great things it does, i have a standalone camera for taking pictures, a samsung 13megapixel with wide angel lens an also has 5x optical zoom

sea-breeze, 28 Dec 2009how did u get that strange i neverrrr exceeded 1.6MBhey pal, i updated my N86 TO v11. but i didnt update to v20 coz of the bugs. i set the colour tone to vivid n i clicked a photo and alas!! the size of image was 3.4 MB. And sum photos were 2.9 n 3.1 MB.

you know what people.... the jpeg compression does not do photos any good, in fact it makes them worse:( hence that is why at night they are so noisy, hope they take the jpeg compression out in the new firware that is coming soon,
and that was delayed....

Dont know y but one speaker is not working :( although it is MADE IN FINLAND set :(:(:(
