The only thing i hate about the N86 is that when you want to put a wallpaper on the screen the lower and upper bar remains above the wallpaper and it covers the lower and upper parts of the wallpaper.This thing is really bad and i HATE IT!!!All that you said about lens getting scratched with the lens cover is @$#$Cra-p.The lens is Carl Zeiss man!!! This kind of lens were and are used for Sniper lens around the world for about 100 years and are the best.The battery plastic cover is really good and it fits very well.The shutter sound is acceptable,i`ve seen much more SE phones whit really bad shutter sounds,OLED dosplay is beautifull and the slide is maybe the best slide a nokia has.Sound quality is pretty good compared to #$$#%#c%rap w995 which is very bad slide and battery is dead after a day.The Nokia N86 is really good but the bad thing is that out there are a lot of people who doesn`t know how to use a symbian smartphone.Learn people and then comment.SE-c%rap phone.Nokia is the Best.And i see that a lot of SE fans are here on Nokia forum to see the beautiful N86.Why are they here if they`re SE are good phone?I tell you!Becouse THEY WANT A NOKIA SMARTPHONE!!! :))))

and if you still happen to own an N82...keep it until Nokia come up with a camphone that has xenon flash

Thing that I don't like 'bout the N86
Hate the batt cover. Feels like your taking off a lid of a plastic container.
Glass on the cam easily get scratched by that dreadful cam cover. It does leaves a mark.
Sliding off the cam cover doesn't always activate the cam.
It has the most awful shutter sound that I've ever heard. I'm putting it in silent mode first before taking a pic.
Oled display isn't the best that I've seen. Samsung does whole lot better
Sliding down the phone is just too f@#$ng irritating that you have to do it with two hands.
Sound thru speaker maybe loud but lacks quality.
And do I regret getting the N86???

June, 11 Dec 2009I don't like how this phone looks, but the inner features i... moreThe n97 could only be better than n86 in two features, querty keyboard n 32 gb internal memory.bigger screen but not omled, bad camera performance compared to other 5mp camera.n86 has perfect 8mp better gaming and above all physical keys no more mistakes inputing orders.N97 is more sensitive to damage i wouldn't imagine f u drop that phone!.btw i am using the 8gb internal memory and have 2.9 gb i have every thing onboard full movies hundreds of apps and games music n even ngage games. What else cud i need 8gb r more than enough.even if ur more data the n86 can have extra 8gb or 16gb, u can use the phone as flash memory! Overall i think the N86 is much more practical than N97.btw i dont like the original n97 headsets, n86 ones r a lot better.

June, 11 Dec 2009I don't like how this phone looks, but the inner features i... moreHi there, well it depends what suits your needs, do you want touchscreen?, or would your prefer to go old school dual slider which produces magnificent photo's in any condition with the N86's 8 megapixel camera, both phones have the same 8gb internal memory an both support 16gb microsd cards, i've had my N86 since last saturday, i have the latest firmware which is 20.115 an the performance of the device is exceptional, it has'nt crashed once (touch wood), the N86 has exceeded my expectations, i heard it was great, but not this GREAT, Nokia defiantley have a winner on there hands with this phone, i would say it is the defiante successor to the N95-8gb, well i hope i've helped you a bit with your choice, but at the end of the day its truely your decision, have a great day :-D

Well i've been brave, took the plunge an downloaded this PYTHON FOR S60 2.0 software update and! I've got to say i'm very impressed, it dramatically improves performance of the device, like when i enter messaging, applications or music player it responds almost instantly with hardly an lag, i think someone of you need to try it for yourself, an so far so good no crashes at all, but then my phone has'nt crashed since the day i got it which was saturday just gone.

New software update avaliable PYTHON FOR S60 2.0 , DESCRIPTION "Python is a modem, dynamically typed, object oriented, intepreted language, with a strong emphasis on code readability, Python for S60 is Nokia's port of the Python language to the S60 smartphone platform which brings in easy access to functionality of the phone, with significantly smaller amount of code and shorter development time" Version number 2.0 file size 4075kb , think i'll wait to someone brave has tried it first lol.
