I like the time now been on most screens and audio/cam/video excellent..
Firstly the supplied earfones/buds are quiet maybe due to the noise limiter thingy,,my music search carrys on too as i left it running for 15 mins and still searching,,i also tried factory reset and music icon is still a folder and some vids are running with sound only but could be due to needing the licencse reinstalling..have put a good bit more but mods not putting thru..

first strange BUG i found in v20 or its only me
when refreshing the music library its keeps on refreshing for ever and never ends !!
any1 got that issue ! also the pre-installed videos not working either !!!!!!!
so waiting for next firmware version to fix that up !

Anonymous, 14 Oct 2009I just checkd and mine has the same problem with the pre-in... moredon't believe what the guy said, already done that but nothing happened. Some of the pre installed videos don't play just the audio but no video, but some do play. And the music icon is just an ordinary folder.

Just like to share this..when I got the new phone N86 8MP,i can play mp4 videos, I updated the firmware from 10 to 11 then 20. Then I can't play the pre-installed videos anymore. Even the music folder went to a regular folder. So what i did, back things up, and reformat the phone-like restoring the factory settings. Surprisingly, the music icon is back-even the videos(mp4,3gp ETC) are playing as well-faster compared to before doing it, and hooking it up using the cable for TV-cause it was a little bit slow and looks like a busted video player. Now it works fine!

BRYNN, 14 Oct 2009Other fones have done that for years and why just copy a lo... morei like symbian than those of se os. Symbian old as it seems but its way better than those dumbphones se os.

andy burgin, 13 Oct 2009I have tried both colours of the N86 an the White one reall... moreI got mine sim free at carfone and at first using over the air their was no update yet i did it over wi fi in 10 minutes,,,it took a few seconds to down load then about 7 mins to install..Also you are updating the software not the firewall..That said you can get f-secure off ovi store on the fone..I only use timewaster games and try to get personnel best score so got rid of n-gage and all its games and got about 15MB back on C disk ..It is a good solid smartfone..

Can anyone please tell me whats this V20 Firmware used for and how to install it?? secondally when u take a pix its saved in three places like all folders, captured ones and in months folder, and when u try to delete anyone of it , it gets deleted from the other folder too, same is with the music thing.. how can i solve these problems??

Hi Ppl!Its 4 d guyz,who wr unable to update ther FW v.20.
PLZ GO To NOKIA CARE CENTRE AND ASK THEM TO UPDATE D FW v.20 they will do dat free of cost belive me i hv done dat.Bt plz ask dem to not open d ph bcoz in my case they jst opend my ph(N79) n its got scraches on d side metallic strip....My heart went broken yar(khun k ansu roya...) n dont forget to bk d ph memory ntherwise sm softwares can b deleted like dictionary etc...HAPPY DIWALI 2 all of u guyz

I own the Nokia N86 8mp. current firmware - v11 i hooked it up to the nokia software updater and it says ur phone is up to date...is it that the firmware is not yet world wide cuz i neva had this issue with my N95 8gb...plus the phone still lags and freezes and the accelerometer is way too sensitive any thing i do it flips! camera is gr8 in low light coditions and so is the video recording...the browsing is quick(not the quickest but quick)...i'm using opera mini 5...cant wait for flashplayer 10.1...all in all the phone rocks...

hey... well this phone is insane... is well maneged... but isnt it the same as the n85... only that the ca,era is 8 mg.... suprising

I have tried both colours of the N86 an the White one really outclasses the indigo one,everything looks brighter an the outside buttons are alot brighter,just wish the mobile produces nowdays would go back to making mobiles were you could change the fascia so you can choose the colour you want,seen a video on youtube of repairing the lcd screen on the N86 an its not a easy job removing the fascia on the N86,tried to update the firewall but only got 11.043 an custom version date 13-07-2009,so how long will i have to wait for the 20 one

suplado, 13 Oct 2009the laster firmware v20 is not available in NSU here in phi... morekabayan, updated mine last october 2 Over The Air via Globe 3G.. it just took 5 mins to download the firmware and around 15 mins for the installation process to complete.. ;)
