brynn, 10 Oct 2009OK,,i got mine on thursday sim free and over the air via ha... morethats why this time I chose to buy the nokia n86 unlocked for $560 and no postage, the companys like vodafone and telstra and optus when they brand there handsets they just piss me off!!!!

Great news guys..the new firmware version 20, aside from the image quality boost and face detection, fixed the stop-at-2-bars-charging problem!

dear friends, i've purchased this phone for about one month now after i had the n95 and here is what i really think: this phone is in general a nice one wiz all the known specifications written down here what i don't feel nice about is the charging plug as it has a micro USB charger which is a little rough in getting it in and out. the other thing is that the speakers are much less than those of the n95 but acceptable.The back piece used for supporting the phone in an upright position is very delicate and can very easily be broken.U need to remove the back cover for installing the SD card.but in general it is a good phone and has an elegant appear.

v20 mine got no issues ?!!!
why r y ppl complaining of nothing ?!!!
i think next firmware upgrades will only fine tune exsisting v20
till now can't think of a thing NOKIA should add to this device
in Camera section got all u need built in image stabilizer face detection panoramic variable apperature .....etc nothing to add
video got best real digital zoom ever made in a mobile device
this device is complete ! dont expect a windows mobile in ur hands its a smart symbian fone !!!!

Hi guys may i know about the battery life? how long can it last? then how is the speaker sound? is the camera and video really good?

leovyn, 10 Oct 2009then i think you should also know i cant update to v20...an... moreOK,,i got mine on thursday sim free and over the air via handset told me no update so was stuck on v10 ..I tried over wi-fi and got v20 update..Can you get to try it over w-fi..If your still getting no joy then the sites are saying it should be worldwide in next two weeks..The next problem is branded handsets,,these are subject to the carrier ie t-mobile,,voda to release them so even if the update is there your carrier/brand/internet provider may or maynot fecide to release update..
In next few weeks if nothing comes available to you its up to people to pester their carrier to release update..
Right you may be sim free so in next week all updates should be out..If not then you will have to change your code or see if a service center will do it for you..Nokia say that their are codes for each different country and each device code,,phew..My n86 has the blue facebook icon..
Next the battery crisis is solved in v20 update but earlier i put a solution and that is to charge it up and then switch n86 off and back on again..I hope i did lots of my posts wont go thru but sure have answered wat i can..
So in next week v20 should be there for you..I am sorry wat i put but thought i had put solutions on the forum,,maybe they did not get thru..

leovyn, 09 Oct 2009i am charging my n86 through usb...and i charged for 2 hour... moreI am suspect now about your questions,,its as if you know the answers and you write a question from topics that have been discussed,,Every question is something that is wrong with the fone as if to bring it to our attention..A problem is found on other forums and next minute you ask the question.. V20 solves the battery issues and its known it takes longer charging via usb due to limited power output from usb hub..Its like somewhere someone mentions no n-gage icon and then this happens,,

My n-gage icon is missing is this normal can anyone confirm their n-gage icon js missing,,is this normal,,can it be downloaded if so how..

Thanks for all the previous replies, but another issue that I have come across the phone is the charging problem.
Many say that there is some light problem during charging while many others complain that the phone would not charge at all.
I have also heard the phone's incompatibility with the usb chargers.. even Nokia's own usb charger isn't compatible as i heard..
Please can anyone provide some valid and detailed info regarding the same..

Can anybody tell me whr is d menu key in n86?As in N70,N73,N79,N82,N95 there is a menu key instead of a media key by wch we can come in Menu while running any applycation to run another app.Simultaneously.Plz guys rply me.Thanx in advance.My mail id is drbidhan_04mbbs@yahoo.com
