leovyn, 06 Oct 2009so if i cant update through OTA...do i have chance to updat... moreYou asked about OTA and N.S.U. being the same just different ways of updating firmware??? yes this is true ,,OTA is a new feature in feature pack 2 symbian series 60 9.3 o/s and allows the fone to be updated over the air (OTA)whilst preserving your data,,BUT,,still back up always cause if out goes wrong you still have everything..
BEAR in mind that at least 2 more updates like other n-series will come for n86 to improve other listed bugs,,add stuff,,increase battery speed and usability..
Remember that this has only been out a short while and will increase in popularity and will take a while to fully mature like n95,,n96 and n82 etc..

leovyn, 06 Oct 2009so if i cant update through OTA...do i have chance to updat... moreSupposidly yes but dont forget to back up..I have found in past that sometimes it does not recognise fone and nokia say reinstall nokia software updater again..I always switch my usb setting to pc suite mode before setting out for an update as it asks you to do this anyway..When i use n.s,u. it takes a while to download the update but it might not happen to you because my connection speed is rubbish even tho its broadband..It could still be while till you get the update as its released at different times worldwide..I have ordered one and should be here friday,,sim free..

I've had one for less than 2 weeks, found it slow, and often switched itself off. last night it cut my call, switched itself off and I haven't been able to switch it on again since. i've tried charging it (just in case) and the charge indicator doesn't even turn on. Disappointed.

leovyn, 05 Oct 2009if now i cant update through OTA...can i update through NSU... moreAt allaboutsymbian.com some people are having luck with one or the other options to update but some people are having 3 attempts before any luck..They seem to release it over the air first so people who have no computers can get it..I was hanging out for white version but have gone off the colour now plus also it will stand out and attract thieves..

if now i cant update through OTA...can i update through NSU? cause my friend said that OTA and NSU are the same just the method are different...if like that..i think i cant update my firmware...

sup, 05 Oct 2009n86 firmware v11 still T_T but the camera is really good... moreSeems lots of people waiting for v20 and nokia assure its on way to everyone suject to network operator own firmware releases which could be months later..I ended up debranding my n95 from voda to get a firmware update here in uk so beware and push your provider if neccessary as they are not obliged to release it..

but the camera is really good... i mean compared to other smartphones...about the music quality ... sound is really good.. execpt for the loudspeaker... coz they put the speaker at the wrong side of the phone... still good quality... and also if you used the headset of n86... really good bass so deep... and i really don't care about loud speaker coz it has 3.5mm jack.. i can plug my speaker w/ woofer... haha coz to think.. why you should use loudspeaker outside? hahaha over all the phone is really good.. keep me waiting for the v20 on NSU...

Mine has n gage icon and i got a code in the box letting me keep one of the trial games for free..dont game tho! Keep voting..

leovyn, 05 Oct 2009if my phone get reset before...after i update my firmware..... moreIve been reading your posts and trying to think whats happening and all i could think of is that your fone is faulty..Then maybe its second hand and somebodys been messing with it beforehand..I wanted to help you more but dont have the fone yet so was working blind from my old fones n-series and using allaboutsymbian.com for help..Did your fone come sealed with the tape saying VOID for example indicating its already been opened,,???
So thats my thoughts but if its not old and ive looked back and you have not had it long a good retailer would exchange it.. Their are still some bugs with accelarometer with v20 that have been noted by a nokia employee working on AAS on the forum but, generally they have to sort out over 50 countries with updates for each specific code and even then its up to branded fone companys to distrubute it..
