hey guys, I was thinking of getting this phone, and my main interests are in the camera/video...
i was wonder if anyone coudl enlighten me about the n86's capability in produciing quality night-time photos/vids... especially in very low light conditions outside....

Upon all the features and quality Nokia N86 has, the ranking is still low compare to Nokia N85

Wai, 24 Aug 2009why my nokia n86 cannot play the video please give the reasondon't forget n86 8mp is a mobile phone. camera is just an extra features so it means we can't really compare it to a digital camera even they have the same mp..when i bought this phone i'm not after the camera only. theres a lot of features in this phone which cause me to buy it.

The 8mp of the n86 is probably the best right now for a mobile phone and not for a digital camera. But still you can compare it with a digi cam coz it produces great photos. Yes your digi cam may be cheap but can you make calls, surf the internet, does it have gps and maps, or even make text messages with it? Well i don't think so...so try shoving that digi cam of yours to your ear and maybe someone's is try to call you haha.

MR architect is right, you guys cannot possibly compare those useless 8 megapixels on N86 to a true digital camera with 8 MP for many reasons, and if someone needs to take good pics just get a digital camera, its actually better and cheaper than the difference between a top-of-the-line camera phone and an"OK" camera phone.

Does every N86 having problems with the camera lens cover? Maximum people have some scratches on lens due to lens cover. could you confirm that?

N86 and N97 are like N82 and N95 8GB two years ago. N86, just like N82, is a camera-centric device, has better camera but smaller display and battery than N97. N97, just like N95 8GB, is dubbed as a true multimedia computer/all-in-one device, has much larger screen and battery but worse camera. Just like N82 and N95 8GB, everything else between N86 and N97 is pretty much the same except the camera, form-factor, screen, mass memory and battery.

josh, 24 Aug 2009who gives a stuff about xenon flash!!!!!!who gives stuff about xenon flash? actually, most people do than don't. yes, the dual led flash on n86 is good enough but admit it, it could've been much better if it was equipped with a xenon flash. nokia could have throwed in a xenon on n86 but still they preferred not to do so. it's probably because they didn't want the hype on xenon gets on the way of the buzz on the variable aperture wide angle lens.

does n86 have the same audio quality as n97? based on most reviews i've read, n97 has the same audio quality as n91. so i think, n91 has already met its replacement on n97.

jalalyashmi@google.c, 23 Aug 2009hi friend. im architect and photographer. and already auth... moremr. architect, photographer and author of 4 books, you're very lucky if its true that you worked with nikon,canon & sony cameras and also if there were 1 or 2 people bought your books. it is because the website who reviewed n86 8mp is for sure knows better than you and didn't say n86 8mp has only 3mp camera.

BUT,BECAUSE OF SMALL LENS AND COMPRESSION ALGORITHM,n86 photos will always look weaker,distordet,unfocused at edges. But for a mobile it's the best camera!
