"At F1.4, the lens is very sharp in a small central region, but distinctly soft across the rest of the frame. Central sharpness improves further on stopping down and is excellent by F2, however the corners lag far behind, only reaching park sharpness around F8. Optimum results are obtained between F8 and F11, where the lens easily matches even the A900's 24MP sensor across much of the frame (if not in the corners); stopping down further gives a gradual reduction in sharpness due to diffraction." Now stopping down to f8-11 requires a tripod, seriously. But see, larger aperture softens the picture but increase the DOF

the black version of this phone makes it look really ugly, but the white version actually looks very nice and clean...lol if the white was the default pic, im sure the ratings wouldn't be this low..LOL
and the variable apperture DOES make a difference, it will probably take the best or 2nd best 8mp pictures, and i'm not a nokia fan-boy, just looking at things reasonably

one problem... where does nokia say it uses 3rd gen LED's? I'm sure in the future large professional strobe lights would have started to convert to LEd if it was already out.

For those of you who seem to think the 3rd Gen LED won't make a difference, read this (or at least look at the two pictures).

OLED - Organic Light Emitting Diode. It a new type of screen the new cell phones are using with better contrast ratios => everything looks better on the screen. It also saves a little power and the OLED screens use less power than the older technology

I would've prefered if they went the route of the more established phone builders.
