One thing I dont understand y nokia use same plastiky body for their high end phones...they could have used some metal...and without metal too their phones r soo bulky and heavy..
I see nokia getting poor and poor in build quality...even n73 has better build then N86

8MP with 8GB , glad that it is not 80MB

since 8megapixels need a lot of space

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970is idou the last phone from SE ?

                  come on guy...

you dont know about entertaiment unlimited means..
idou is the first phone from entertaiment unlimited
there are many SE high end phones like X2, P series and do you know about SE japan ? yes, SE japan already use BRAVIA screen ect on their phone..

and wait for the 2nd phone from entertaiment unlimited..they said it will use 20MPs camera, XGA screen, 1GHz, Full HD record video and 100MB speed per secon for internet..if you dont belive me so wait and see!!

you must know what exmor cmos quality is...it can produce clear and sharp image in high resolution so when you focus n zoom the image so you will get more detail and unblur image also Exmor can provide the highest pixel quality in the world Right know, it is a fact!!! there is no distortion anyway..

look at N86..yes it have complete aperture can make picture to be more sharper but unfortunetly their sensor quality is low so when you focus an image with your complete aperture, the result is the image will be sharp but blur because it doesnt have high cmos sensor to make high resolution image..SADLY!!!

it means the apertures is useless!!!!You may have a perfectly focused subject because you can stop down your aperture to increase dept-of-field but if your imager is low-res, your perfectly focused subject will not be sampled as high-res because of your low-res imager.

"Up till now, Nokia has been buying the majority of their low- and mid-range CMOS sensors from the Swiss STMicroelectronics, but switched to the Korean producer because it’s faster than STMicroelectronics in bringing new products to the market."

UPnP = Universal Plug & Play
OLED = Organic Light Emitting Diode
A typical OLED is composed of an emissive layer, a conductive layer, a substrate, and anode and cathode terminals. The layers are made of organic molecules that conduct electricity. The layers have conductivity levels ranging from insulators to conductors, so OLEDs are considered organic semiconductors.

Well If you notice, it actually gets sharper as the f-stop goes up. Its hard to make a wide aperture thats fully sharp. Diffraction starts at f/8 (35mm numbers though). Now think about it. Nokia at f/4.8 theoretically it should be sharper then. Well the thing is the size of the module is so small that alot of diffraction will still happen. Looking at my Nikkor 100mm f/2.8 there is still quite a bit of opening, which the Nokia doesn't have the luxury of.

Well if you read the whole thin 1.4 is actually less sharp than f4. But the explanation for that lies in the lens itself. If you shot that with film the results would show f1.4 be much sharper in the middle than stopping up to f4. However saying that most 50 1.4 lens achieve max sharpness in the middle at f2. (there is a large difference between f2 and 2.4 and then 2.8) After that the images start getting softer due to diffraction. Everything appears sharper because there is a larger depth of field. But keep in mind these guys use a tripod, so it doesn't matter what the shutter speed is.

Bottom line~~I don't care what camera phone is is, always use the smallest aperture. Faster shutter speed + infinite focus will lead to a somewhat better picture.

The only reason I can see about this variable aperture in a phone camera is to compensate for a BAD LENS... a lens with fully opened aperture has an unsharp image... you have to stop down the aperture to obtain a sharper image but that cost a battery draining strong flash or you have to shoot always under a bright sun.

Thanks to the "haters" this phone is getting hotter everyday. "Hits" steadily increase that even over shadowed Omina HD (announced a day before N86) and now catching up with Idou (announced 3 days before N86)

No wonder why bored SE fanboys come here to destroy this phone, their Idou is lossing grounds. People have lost interest on Idou because they realize that its still a CONCEPT phone, nothing to brag about hehehe

Well, readers here knows best c",
