don't buy SONY ERICSSON IDOU , not worth
12MP with FIXED APERTURE-F/2.8
compare to N86 various aperture
buy N86
it got various aperture - F/2.8,F/3.2,F/4.8
it got a wide-angled carl zeiss optics
and tessar lens

the white one looks pretty cool actually. It's a little wider than it should be. If you wanna talk ugly, talk Nokia E75 (gawd what are those at Nokia thinking). But the 8meg camera is quite promising. The ratings for this phone is a little cruel in my opinion.

ok. I made a mistake. Carl Zeiss doesn't even make or design their lense for the Maxxum , EF, K, and F mounts. Cosina in Japan does. So what chance does Nokia have of Carl Zeiss actually designing Nokia's lenses?
That leaves Zeiss to do medical products (Glasses), for-order products such as the 1200mm F4.0 and their Zeiss Ikon Rangefinder lineup. So where do the other prodcuts fit in? (Nokia's lenses are not better than the Cosina lenses... trust me)

The lens has a very minor effect compared to the post processing (Only applies to P&S and camera phones. Higher end stuff gets MUCH better glass). Processing the JPEG and the noise reduction and focusing on processing algorithms are a better use of R&D than creating a tiny lens.
Common, so back to NOKIA stuff. If you want to bash SE... well don't do it. If SE fans want to bash Nokia... well don't do it. If a nokia fan wants to talk about the n86.. the ndo it! If an SE fan wants to talk about IDOU in the IDOU thread.. do it!

Maybe they hated nokia phone cause nokia always be a good phone and always be a number one phone in the world.

May I ask to all people here... what is this forum, a Nokia or Sony Ericsson? I am just wondering why there are a lot more entries here about the SONY IDOU than N86. Even those that looks like Nokia fans are talking about SONY IDOU. Maybe it's in the name because N86 name has no appeal while the IDOU sounds personal or it seems there is something that is bonding the phone and the user. Or maybe there is really something in the IDOU that attracts attention.

Sony Ericsson will not release the idou phone its just another idea from Ericsson not Sony to get the others produces winde up,the C905 was a piece of garbage my mates send is phone back 5 times with the Faulty earpiece an software problems,so Ericsson might end up being sold off by Sony losing them so much money releasing unreliable mobiles an the sales dropped down to the lowest ever,so stop slagging Nokia down they are still the Best an the N86 will beat all the other phones around like the N95 an the N95 8gb did

1. SE Idou - no pros, all cons
2. Samsung i8910 Omnia HD - few pros, few cons
3. Nokia N86 8MP - all pros, no cons

my boyfriend had the this for like 4months now and i think it is absolutely amazing. i love it. people complain that it is hard to use but it really isnt. Amazing phone, true story ;)

dave, 04 Mar 2009ok i will help you a little the clue is find the IDOU E... morehahahaha!!! dont u see da samsung HD??they also claim dat OMNIA HD can provide HD video.but whts da result??video was stucked.HD wit higher resolution means slow capture,dat mean video will not smoother.dont u see dat da video they hv been provided was slowly opereted!!cz the phone is takin much tim to capture inorder to maintain quality.look da video again.Hollywood movie still use VGA 30FPS,und??so if dis idou also go wit HD usin higher resolutin thn i m sure its gonna another fu*kin video quality.i m sure after idous released people wil through sh*t to u guys cz u guys r talkin too much wit fantasy nothin else.n whn idou's picture wil be croped n compared to others its a challenge to u guys idou wil win da crown of hving most noise in picture.hv a nice day
