I dropped my n86 several times now, but still ok. I use the lowest light setting when im indoors and the highest when im outdoors to take pics. I know, N86 or earlier amoled has problems when exposed to direct sunl;ight or even exposed in daylight. But still its ok. Now, for service centers, Mine had already been to the service center for 3 times already. First was the software update bec. i can't launch manually the updater int he phone, then second is the cleaning (though there where no dust under the screen) and finally which is the one that got me worried at first was, when i busted the USB port on the phone while i was charging. I told the kind lady that i broke the phone and she told me that she would write the complain as a factory defect and after 2 weeks of parts replacement and testing. I got my phone!!! Nokia SM Megamall is the best!Im from Philippines BTW.. :)

Yes , agreed , I had similar incident with my nokia 5300.

Just dont know whether the Svc Centre should be known as Cheating Centre

Sometimes trust Nokia Service Centre in Singapore.

In March i dropped my white N86 and the screen cracked. When i sent to Nokia Svc Centre at Causeway Point , they took in my hp for repair.
The next day they called me up and informed me that the hp is beyond repair

I took the ph back and keep it at home as souvenir. Recently I saw a friend of mind running a hp kiosk. I told him about the phone and he agreed to check. Two days later he called me and informed me that the hp is repaired. It costs $80/-.

I was surprised and perturbed. When Nokia established Svc centre cant repaired it , why outside unknown kiosk is able to repaired it.??

So you people out there , dont ever trust the svc centre , at times they no nuts about hp. They are just stupid.

If Nokia Not happy and wanted to sue me , I am prepared for it.......Damm stupid Nokia Svc Centre

I HAVE N86 AND E72.Both are good solid reliable smartfones.

@Dr Bidhan ,what screen brightness are you using ??I have mine at 75% indoors but put in on full blast when out and about..

T person who n86 slows when battery gets low,,never heard of such an odd opinion..Bttery life in lithium ion technology runs at full capacity the just dies instantly,,its not like torch battery where as the batterys get used the bulb starts to dim...

I reboot my fone everyday as it clears out stuff and makes it more efficient and when a new update arrives or periodically i factory reset the n86..Dont forget to back up??? This clears out all the temporary files and other gunk allowing the new software update to be applied to a clean ROM ..

Remember these smartfones act like computers running slower with lots of apps open,,cache and cookies and temp internet files build in the device and they can crash ..I love nokia/symbian button fones..

For those, who are wondering- I am using N86 for 7 months and E72-1 for 2 weeks. I can say that build quality is similar (poor by nokia standards- wobbly lower front trim and 4 way navigation button in e72 and wobbly/scratchy slide mechanism & keys in N86, although no dust in my phone, despite it being made in China). E72 has smaller, poorer screen, without auto-rotation, so not quite usable for navigation, but enough for internet. Wifi works faster in E72, battery is 2 times better and processing is markedly quicker. Qwerty is real good for texting and e-mailing, otherwise I keep slamming on all menu buttons at once, N86 is immensely more convenient in this respect. N86, on the other hand, has a usable camera, lots of memory, FM transmitter and other quite usable features, so I use E72 for my business SIM and N86 for my personal one, taking pictures, navigation, storing data (no need for USB stick since my 8 Gb micro sd card has a USB adapter. Both do lag and hang sometimes, quite at the same level, so I flashed both of them and updated all the s/w. Navigation without an internet connection is slow in both, but E72 doesn't skip junctions, like N86. Hope this is useful.
