Anonymous, 13 Jul 2010I have had 2 Nokia N82 phones and had to get rid of them fo... moreTheir were earpiece problems in early 5800 models and nokia admitted fault and replaced them all ..The n86 by one person i know had a faulty speaker on the 2 speakers at each end of n86 and there are reports of stiff buttons on some early models but the n86 is very well built,,thats why its heavy..

Now a trip to a nokia service center would help but thats easy said ,,i have to travel 45 miles to my nearest center ..Nokia sell a million smartfones every 4 days and some are bound to be faulty but if your polite and explain wats wrong they are pretty good with stuff even if its slightly out of warranty..

      Nokia Maps 3.4

I have problem, when you set 'Tones' there're sixteen 'qf(s)' detected in the tone list.
qf is a file that generated by Nokia Maps...

      Do you have same problem?
I had tried to delete it but they're still in the list.
How do you remove this problem...?

I have had 2 Nokia N82 phones and had to get rid of them for the same reason. The speaker at the top where you listen when receiving a call started making a blurred sound like a loose connection when some one is talking to you. Eventually it just went dead. Now with my new N86 8MP it started doing the same after just 2 weeks. I don't listen to music and stuff so the speaker is not set on loud or anything. The phone has never been dropped. Is this a common problem or is it just a bad phone?
Any body else experienced the same problems?

I got one a month back for same reason and that is touchscreens are hard to handle,,you keep catching the screen making it do stuff you dont want,,theirs no design its just a screen with no gadgety buttons etc..

Siddhu, 12 Jul 2010Finally i'm planning to buy the spare part..i can't talk so... morei cant guarantee but it shall be helpful, in case dust entry is only from bezel area and not from keys(less possibility case) etc. As these two are only prominent places that offer dust entry.

Above all you require to be more careful while handling your device, ie not overexposing it and using a proper carry case.

[deleted post]for replacement you need to convince him/ force(verbally) him to do so. U may tell him to consult nokia regarding this. If nokia considers this as a fault, it will be replaced.

This is all if you are having a gap which is greater than in others set. If thats within design limitations, then that must not be a problem.

i bought my N86 8mb last august of 09. i bought it brand new.
it's the best nokia phone i've had so far (and i've had a lot..)
the e-series i didnt like that much. i only had my e71 for 2 months. it did have a lot of business functions but you cant use them all at the same time.

the resolution of this n86 is great. and internet / wifi is great too.

i was going to buy n97 but the reviews on the touch screen sensitivity was not very good.

im quite happy with this nokia phone..

You guys have dust under the screen. I had the opportunity to see a tiny insect crawling across under the screen. And yes I too have 2 or 3 lint particles under the screen.

Siddhu, 11 Jul 2010I've tried some of care points..they're seemed to be useles... more@siddhu

i agree, those care points are pretty useless. Getting them to do something is really painful.

But one thing you can do, is to directly talk to care center manager, instead of talking to workers there. It really helps. It helped me too, for my battery replacemnt case, just after 1 month of purchase. Those people were not acknowledging my battery issue, and told that its ok, backup is ok, kept my n86 for 1 day, and even they scratched it a lot. But when i talked to center manager, my battery was replaced in no time, hand to hand.

Sorry but i've no friends over there.

If its having build issues it will help, as it helped someone at a forum.

Since everything is not perfect, and quality, build check is done for 1 in many sets (probablity case, bulk production), so there are chances of some being faulty.
