My N86's a week now!
Already updated it via FOTA v30.009.54.1, OVI contact 1.50, OVI Maps 3.4 with free navigation, and Python 2.0.
This updates really suffered the Phone Memory (now about 29.4MB free).
and also I notice that there's very thin line scratch on the back slide...what the...!!! I still dunno which part scratch it..., the keys still nice!

guys help needed i have facing a prblm in ma nokia n86 after buying it couple of weeks later theres a black dot in d clicked pix and since 3 days beside that black spot theres a very small line now appearing in d pix and 2 other dots.n today i went to 2 nokia care and as alwaxs dey took d fone n asked me 2 come after 2 hours n went 2 them they said theres a prblm in d camera unit and d fone is needed to sent to delhi for further repair or d replacement of d unit ... M very happy wid dis fone except some hang ups n crashes but i dint like dis as i m havin dis fone for almost a year n bought it for 26k n i dont expect such things from such an expensive n great device.. Nokia do somethin

I got my n86 on 26th June 2010.
The first feel of holding is awesome , its heavy but feels solid I personally like heavy cell phone.
First thing I did was to update its firmware it had V21 and now its has V30.009 ( I am in P.akistan )
it update smoothly via NSU ( nokia software updater ) but my N-gage was removed for which I installed N-gage .
I got My cert and Key file from internet also and I installed many softwares on it.
It has adobe acrobat ( V 1.5 ) and Quickoffice ( which doesn't let you edit files ) Well I Installed Adobe acrobat 2.5 and quickoffice 6 which allows editing .
Sound is clear and awesome , W-lan and bluetooth connectivity works flawlessly as well as Fm radio and its Radio transmitter.
Battery lasts 1 and half day for me I am heavy user ( Internet , games, Music .
Side Metal is fingerprint magnet.
I haven't faced any probs in software or anything.
Camera works excellent for pics and I am satisfied with it

i think there is general problem with firmware ver 30.
as all these problem occurs after ver 30 released.
the old ver 20 is the most stable for now.

do 1 thing back up ur data like contacts, message, etc. And
format your fone by dialing *#7370#, remember do it by
dialing this code only.. Your phone won't show this problem after this...

Anonymous, 27 Jun 2010Still the problem is persisting..It happened to me and thats all i did.buT all of my plaslist are gone.your library is corrupted thats why it show system error.if your phone is hacked.google the trick on how to delete your music library

If it's still failed, bring it to Nokia Care to flash it!
Possibly software error or hardware problems...

i finally got this n86 and i love the feeling of this,,,if only they have put a xenon flash it should have completed it..also sometimes it hangs especially while opening the pics and apps,,,maybe the next update could fix this..

Guys can anyone solve my prob..
Whenever i play some songs from the music library its showing general:system error and it gets outta the album info and selection comes to the albums list..
And when i play that particular song from the file manager it plays well..no error msg was popping..
Its so annoying that whenever we wish to play a desired song..it unfortunately showing that error..
Do anyone know some solution for this problem..pls

I just bought the phone as i hope to enjoy it very well....... It pops my heart with joy while holding it.
Its specifications are also nice.

I cannot but link these 2 things. Garmin also packed up after a week of usage (when gsm was not working anymore). At least I was able to take pictures and videos while on vacation (pretty good anyway) and use nokia maps travelling for 1600 km overseas. It was good not to carry around my digital camera, video camera and navigator.

Have used it for 6 months and it packed up last week, while I was on vacation, travelling on my car outside my country, using roaming and gps. All functions of the phone work except for gsm module and gps. It doesn't see any network. I disconnected the battery for a few hours and did several hard resets. Managed to start gps, but it works intermittently, sometimes hanging or not finding gps signal for hours. Now it's an expensive, poor navigator with player and camera.
Anybody had this situation?
