Remember guys my opinions our suggestions are not the ultimate things. There are a lot of things which definitely i don't know.
Here whatever I share mostly its my own experience. Also I keep on reading a lot and always try to keep myself up to date.

Power saving means that just the most necessity things works and other just stop. May be it can be configured through terminal in some way.
Why it is asking again and again for connection, is because apps like acviweather, mail, feeds etc needs internet connection, and in power saving mode connection lost too quickly to save the battery.
My suggestion is that if you want the connection always then don't use power saving mode, set the brightness at lowest level. It'll nearly work equal to power saving mode.

did u get it ?Yes I have got your mail but cant reply you from my N9. Message appears
"Can't connect to STMP server stmp.gmail.com or it does not exist"
And when I try to update Hotmail over Mail for Exchange then msg appears
"Sync didn't work. Invalid host address for Mail for Exchange server".
I am using both of them from the last 6 months and this problem come out from no where

Deleted and set up the accounts again. Check out the configurations deeply. Everything seems to be ok with settings. But still its not working. I think its not the issue with my device, its with the Nokia messaging service. Because another person was claiming problems with gmail.

Try to calling some number if it is connection problem.
try to delete the account and remake it. I think it is the best option.
