I bought my Nokia N9 three weeks ago, notwithstanding all kinds of snide and sarcastic remarks and reviews. It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. People say: "Nokia N9 ? Poor applications, dead operation system, blah, blah..."
All this evaporates once you begin playing with the toy. It is the simplest, sexiest and most user friendly phone. Period...
All my friends have iPhones and Samsung Galaxy S IIs. They paid a fortune to buy them. Nonsense !
I am not interested in billions of "fart-apps" or silly games !
What I need is a ligtning fast, stable, reliable, sturdy, user-friendly smartphone with all the high quality applications and social networks built in.
Moreover, Nokia N9 has a lovely "swipe" action. No other smartphone has it.
It is a pure joy to use this phone. You can easily customise it too.
All in all, I'm a satisfied customer and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
Don't be distracted by what others say. Follow your heart :)
You won't regret it at all...

Rekan, 09 Jan 2012TO any one who might now the answer ,
1. is N9 is last mee... moreWell, here goes... the N9 will apparently be Nokia's last MeeGo phone. Another company might release one, but there's nothing certain. Android app emulation is certainly possible (they hinted at Alien Dalvik, don't know what came of that though). Finally, Nokia are mainly dropping the Ovi brand now - if you meant the Nokia Store, the number of Qt apps on there is expanding but full support is unlikely.

an, 08 Jan 2012can anyone of nokia n9 onwers let me know the x-y dimension... moreWell, if you have the following info:
1) Screen: 3.9" diagonal
2) Resolution: 480x854 (aspect ratio: ~9:16)
Assuming that the pixels are square (N9 uses Pentile configuration so they are not really square, but it's close enough for a valid result in this case), all you need is a little bit of high-school trigonometry to get the dimensions.
To find the angle between the diagonal and the main side, you can use arctan(aspect ratio), which in this case is ~0.5123, and then you can get the sides:
width = 3.9" * sin(0.5123) ~= 1.9" ~= 4.8cm
height = 3.9" * cos(0.5123) ~= 3.4" ~= 8.6cm
Or you can even use pure Pythagoras' theorem, substitution and quadratic equations:
width² + height² = 3.9²
height = width / aspect_ratio
width² + (width / 0.5625)² = 15.21
--
width ~= 1.9" ~= 4.8cm
height ~= 3.4" ~= 8.6cm
Of course, the real size might differ a bit because of the already mentioned Pentile structure and rounding, but should give you pretty much a good idea of the actual active screen size.
See, high-school math can be useful after all ;)

nokia phones are still the best! Android phones lags too much even though the phone is powered by dual cores and higher gHz.. We all know that nokia lags too but nokias hardware is very different from other phones!
The nokia phone quality is very good..
Samsung/LG phones here in some pawnshop are not accepted because its too fragile..
Many people says that they like android and ios because of hundred thousands of applications!! My question is? Can you install it in your phone? What will you do with it??(nokia n8 line) I believe that there are hundred thousands of third party apps for nokia phones! Maybe nokia doesnt accepted these apps for nokia store.. Nokia is not dying! Actually nokia is getting stronger! Believe me, many of other OS users will turn back to nokia... ü sorry for my bad english
