AnonD-26970, 20 Oct 2011should Nokia listened to the people & embrace android, ... moreAgain, the fact that its not android is the strength of the N9. How boring would it be if it was just "yet another droid without multitasking power". Android is exactly what many of us DONT want, as an 11 months android user im amazed how weak OS it is, i miss my N900 like crazy. Never had the stability problems i seen on android from HTC, Samsung, LG, it always worked, never hanged, never crashed. How many android users can say the same? none i know.

oracle, 20 Oct 2011Nokia is falling way behind the race of SmartPhones. They w... morethats your opinion, ok. For me its oposite, im getting N9 to rescue me from the childish OS called Android, the OS with virtually no user control and less multitasking capability with each new version.
Y wud i want Google and HTC to decide which apps or browser tabs stay open, i cant even read new text messages without having my browser tabs closed with Android 2.3, its insane eh, me as the LEGAL OWNER have no control over my open apps??? Is that a good thing in your book oracle? And still i didnt mention the advertising that is the sole reason Google made Android to begin with, and the fact that HTC pay royalties to MICROSOFT for each android fone they make.

sgUser, 19 Oct 2011hey faraz, how is the connection to pc? does it behave like... morei think its too early to come up with the best option as i couldnt invest much time on the phone. however i used the latest compatible pc suite instead of ovi. i synced all my contacts with it, but couldnt do the same with my text msgs as i like to keep it. in this case i would say n8 is better. and yes, file browser lets you access the phone with only limited areas of its memory like a usb, as the phone has restricted to user memory for around 10 gb. maps can be downloaded from the phone itself, i downloaded australia and india. i think it does the job that u need.
the third party are very limited but most of them are very useful with great quality. no regrets with the phone so far :)

perfect phone! Sad thing is i dont have the money to buy it.. Please nokia make mini version of this phone with a basic feature like 2.8 or 3.0 inches capacitive touch, 2mp cam is good to make the price down, 3g is not needed wifi is better because lots of people love the social networking so they can net for free, symbian v5 os is better because its a cheap os with nice feature. Dont worry about the android addicts, instead make a lot lot of games and apps in your nokia store then do some update with your symbian like portrait qwerty keypad coz dats the 1 thing that people love. I know nokia you can do that.. I believe in you.. Thanks..

Hi from Australia , I now own a Black Nokia N9 16GB since 14-10-2011. $636.00 outright.
This phone could be better only 3 things that I found wrong with this phone.
1. No support with this phone with OVI Suite phone not supported yet.
2. No DAB+ or FM Radio in this phone.
3. Phone profiles can't have a timer on it to change from one profile to another.
I rate this phone 7/10.
Nokia get your act together why release a phone not supported with OVI Suite.

I have nothing against Nokia. They have sold more than all branded phones combined. Maybe because the phones are sturdy enough to last for years. It’s all Muscle! But that’s just it… They are All muscles… but No Brain!

Nokia needs more than an entry level platform (MeeGo) to match against Android and iOS. Not only do they need to take a huge leap, they would have to put a man on the moon and back.

Nokia is falling way behind the race of SmartPhones. They would have to come up with a better platform than MeeGo. If you run a comparison between Nokia, HTC, Iphone, Motorola Droid and Samsung. Nokia will definitely looks like a child's toy.

I got this phone and I tell the display is the most amazing display I ever seen. Its bright, the colours are vivid and the icons almost looks like they are stickers stuck on the surface. It also performs amazingly well under sunlight. (But beware CB Amoled display becomes extremely heated under direct sun light)
And thats not all. The glass is amazing too. Its curved so you finger glides effortless on the surface. It almost feels like sliding on teflon. Furthermore its finger print resistant. Yes, no fingerprints on the glass.
And I would like to add the sound quality is amazing. The sound from the speaker might be poor but when you put on the ear phones, you will be wowed. The bass is thick and the quality extremely good. If you turn on the Dolby surround for headphones enhancement, its even more amazing.

should Nokia listened to the people & embrace android, then this could be my phone.
This will never be better than SGS II or HTC Sensation. Their arrogance will make Nokia fall...

I am buying this phone. Detractors can't sway me out of it. For me, it is a piece of tech excellence. It comes with a twin developer phone so I'm quite happy with the fact knowing that there will be some kind of support on it. It's open OS. A lot of things are possible. By the way, I think it's not meant for mass market. It's limited edition stuff.
