You dont have to keep promoting Android in Nokia thread as by now many have used an Android phone before(including myself) & know what to expect. You buy whatever suits you best, we buy whatever suits us best.

2nd.. android requires this 2000mAH battery and still the charge wont last any longer....N9 with meego doesn require such a heavy battery and still u will get good long charge way better than any androids
3rd.. regarding that alien dalvik stuff...i got the same question as u asked ;).....anybody care to answer tat one?

AnonD-13986, 02 Oct 2011No worries, Android fanboys dont need to be concerned. Ther... moreI like the potential with MeeGo, but unfortunatly N9 will only be a collectors item for those who like to collect soon extinct models. N9 is going to be the one and only MeeGo from Nokia and that is one big reason why it is so "popular" among those who wants to play with this as their "secondary" phone. The future for MeeGo is not with Nokia, and MeeGo should be allowed to shine on better hardware, dual-core and 2000 mAh battery and FM-radio and HDMI and sd-card-slot and... MeeGo could be great, but unfortunatly the only good hardware that comes with Nokia-phones is the camera.
You do not need to wait for Androids that are better than this N9, you can choose between many already today, and if it were not for the Harmattan skin N9 would not really impress that much at all. MeeGo is not yet "better" than Android, it is only a little bit "different".

Do anyone have an answer to my question about Alien Dalvik, can users run any Android App or can they only use those that the developer have "repacked"? If Android apps needs to be repacked before they can be used on MeeGo then N9 will not really be able to use Android Apps, and a completely new App-Store needs to be made available that have these "repacked" Android Apps?

There will always be another greater Android, & another Android, & another Android, next year, the year after. No need rush, Android will still be there waiting, after we get done with N9.
Same goes for Iphone, Iphone no 6,7, will still be waiting the next year & so on.
Btw, there are those who already have phones from other OS, N9 is secondary to accompany the main phone

N9 will not be competing in sales figure either, they didnt make a lot of it.
Those who want, get it, those who dont, leave the quota for those who do.

[deleted post]It is the Harmattan skin that is "good" on N9, and I think/hope there soon will be a launcher for Android that copy most of the look and feel of the Harmattan skin!

One question: N9 will be able to run Android apps by running the Alien Dalvik emulator, but "Android developers will not have to change their world to make their applications run seamlessly on MeeGo. They will just have to repack the .apk installer.", does this mean that you can only use those apps and games that the developer have repacked, you can not use any Android app you have bought from any Android App or Game Store, does this need a new app- and game-store for those repacked apps and games and who will run this store, Nokia or?

Had I ranked GS2 1/1/1, would that make it a bad phone and would it change your opinion about it? No. Had you ranked the N9 1/1/1, would that make it an equally bad phone and change my opinion about it? Q.E.D.

[deleted post]N9 is good, but it is too expensive, and Android can do almost everything that MeeGo can do, but the difference is that Android have the big Google as a dedicated developer so that Android is developed a lot faster than MeeGo, and Android already have the ability to use all Android apps and games from the start, no need to find and install this ability from some independent "developer" on the Internet because Microsoft does not allow Nokia to make this ability available from the start or even as a later official upgrade. For the cost of N9 you can find many dualcore and batteryefficient Androids that all will be updated to Android Ice Cream Sandwich..., and I think that we soon will see lanchers for Android that look and feel almost the same as the Harmattan skin on N9.
MeeGo and Android should be friends, and we could have been if Nokia did choose Android and not Microsoft WP7, and Nokia would have choosen Android if the "Trojan Horse" Elop had not been hired by Nokia.

It's really sad this phone is not better than the N8 is all aspects, FM transmitter, Usb-otg and 12MP's were great features. Nokia decided to move to W7P os, which I think is ridiculous, resulting in a lack of good apps for Meego
