I am so buying this phone. This is how the interface should be done, iOS and Android look so last generation now.

With N900 you could run most Debian apps and I think you could do something similar with N9 too. That means quite a lot of professional apps. With Alien Dalvik you will probably be able to run most of Android apps too.

To those people talking about faster Android devices, please consider the following:
-Android isn't all that efficient OS
-Real mobile performance isn't MHz limited, it is heat limited. Fastest phones can run at full speed for only short bursts.
-There needs to be some balance between speed and battery life. Trying to actually fully utilize that 1.2 GHz dual core will absolutely kill even best currently available phone batteries.

Anonymous, 11 Aug 2011i want a n9 why nokia no release in the us and the uk?!!Because US and UK peoples will never appreciates the power of a good phones and the great idea and functions behind a wonderful Meego OS. They only appreciate things when it will give them the fashionable statements or when their favorite celebrity use that product or when the product is a "cool" thing to use in public or when Steve Job tells them to buy it.

AnonD-17076, 11 Aug 2011do not do not do not plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz compare n9 w... moredo not do not do not plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz compare phone from hardware specs only u iphone fanboy. Compare it with the real world performance, amount of functions that the OS can do (is it a true multitask or just freezing the running apps in the background which is cheating..haha), the quality of reception when receive and making calls, amount of support (support means update for product, not amount of apps in the market), battery life, quality of camera and videos and many more. I'm sure iphone 5 might have dual-core, but still will not have real multi-task, will never have good camera and video, will have limited functions out of the box, no homescreen, and lastly the ever boring iOS interface..woooooooo

XX, 10 Aug 2011does anyone know how many years after the lauch nokia n9 wi... moreOne of the head of management Nokia states that supports such as firmware updates will be given for years..meaning support will come for more than 1 year (at least) after N9 released..expect support between 2-4 years. For nowadays market, support up to 2 years is good enough since new and better product from all phone brands keeps coming in year in year out. As for support apps, N9 is be able to use its own Meego based apps, also symbian apps and all other apps that develop using Qt framework and also will be able to android apps (have been proven in some video in the web..google it). So u can say that this phone is well-supported from product update wise and also applications wise. Thats y i'm buying it when it arrive..yuhu!!!

Cell Phone User, 10 Aug 2011So what is Elop scared of? Not selling the N9 in the US. ... moreThe US version will be the one code named "Sea Ray" google it, it's almost the same specs but its going to run on Windows Mobile instead because as we all know kids in America are dumb and lazy therefore offering the MeeGo (Linux based) version would be too complicated for their simple mind.

maybe because they dont like to release it in USA just because they like it to make an exclusive manufacturing of their own product to avoid cloning of N9. lets admit people now a days are very smart to clone everything. see in china they fake everything iphone or even iphone store. but i dont know they can produce the world need for N9. i know this be the best seller of all mobile phone, N9 will surpass the record of iphone just look for it and remember my comment here.

The share holder should sack him. How are Nokia ever going to be back in profit, if they won't sell the phones people want in the markets that have money to buy them. If they don't start selling devices people want, they will be bust by the mid next year and it will be all Elop's his fault.

Do you have to pay a lot of customs tax if the retailer mail it to you? I'll try ask the authorized dealer in Malaysia if they do that, mailing cost & the warranty coverage.
