AnonD-12237, 11 Jul 2011People are saying that this machine should be more powerful... moreI second this. People are getting spoiled these days. Honestly, what the hell do you use a phone for? Playing Crysis?! Of course not.
The 1 GHz clock speed is more than enough and it's GPU is there if you needed some light gaming. Honestly I'd say anything above 900 MHz is the sweet spot, though different OS have different requirements.
This phone is in my 'want' list, the 64 GB version of course. The 16 GB's price doesn't seem to justify it.

remy, 11 Jul 2011Ugly design although slim, no rounded corners, looks like a... moreWhat device are you talking about? Surely the N9 is leaps and bounds beyond the rest design wise. And I also take it you meant to say Swipe UI is far beyond iOS in ease of use? Or do you really like that double press of a button to see icons you could have seen on the homescreen as well.

People are saying that this machine should be more powerful. I don't see why thats necessary. 1GHz is enough to run the device smoothly. So i don't know whats the point of making it more powerful or adding a dual core except for adding more cost. In fact its the ram that counts cos there'll be a lot of multi-tasking.
I don't really care about games cos i don't play a lot of games except fruit ninja, so i'm not really fussed about not having many games.
The task I perform the most the a phone is to browse the web, make calls & messages, organise schedules, keeping reminders, browsing the web, using GPS and setting the alarm. I'm impressed by the way N9 handles these tasks so thats why this phone is on my buy list, instead of fancy schmancy super powerful android phones.

I will definitely buy this phone. Actually I already preordered it :) Black one of course
No specific information on prize or release day unfortunately.
I'm certain it does everything I need, and much more.
Would love to have USB OTG like N8 though, also the camera of N8 is the best on the market right now, but I know N9 will produce sufficient quality pictures for me. I still have my DSLR for real photography ;)
Maybe it's just me, but I have never understand the app hype with iOS and Android. There's few apps I would consider essential, and for the games, I can live without. Also I dislike the need to use apps for browsing the internet, a good browser with well made pages for mobile is enough. I know companies will notice this eventually. They just save so much time and money when they don't need to make separate apps for every platform.
Also the idea of jail breaking or rooting my new phone to make the most out of it, feels just idiotic. I want my phone to just work out of the box, I've paid hard money on it so I should be able to do what I want with it.

The N8 is a great phone, and for me, severely underrated due to it's specs. Technology evolves fast, if you buy a new phone make sure it'll be a product that'll last.

If this phone is appropriately price, I won't have any doubts it'll sell well.
If it undergoes development from Intel, I hope it's music player is on par with Symbian's own, or perhaps an improved music player. Now that would be a welcome addition in my book.

Ugly design although slim, no rounded corners, looks like a brick and the main page it`s a copy of iPhone`s interface. It has no personality.

Guys, guys, everybody knows that Samsung is preparing to take over Nokia. This is Nokia's fault. I am absolutely sure that they will take over soon. By the way the N9 could have a big success, but maybe it's not enough.

Alex, 11 Jul 2011What will be the flash player version.????
can it run 3D g... moreThe N9's GPU (SGX530) gives out the gaming prowess, it's slightly weaker than the iPhone 4 but it should be fine. Don't worry though, Qt games in the Ovi store are quite light.
If someone releases an overclocking utility, you could turn the N9 into a small gaming machine, though I doubt it's worth it. The standard speeds of the GPU would be regarded as the most stable.

Why radio is important and essential?
Because you listen to :
1) free music,
2) important announcements,
3) traffic,local & global news,
4) past time,
4) possible found long-lost friends/colleagues.
Radio plays such an important part in our life, and we can't simply live without it,and best of all,it's free, everyone wants it.
