No need for screen protector... gorilla glass is hard to scratch... keep N9 in naked pocket-- no problems.

Still, considering you as new user (or a kid), select any photo u want to upload, go to share button (third from bottom left) and u will find many sharing options. If you have activated facebook account on your n9 then it should reflect there too.
Now regarding whatsapp, just follow saqibs link provided below and install the same. You need PR1.2 or above version for that i guess. if u dont have it, just update it. Done..

Anonymous, 04 Nov 2012how do I download whatsup on this phone. i am unable to pas... moreStop spamming plz. Facebook photo uploading is best in N9. No issue at all. There may be a little chance that Facebook services are down at your side. As for N9 photo uploading on Facebook works fine.
Whatsapp is a third party app. You cant blame a device if it does not have a third party support. As for N9 there is an unofficial client of Whatsapp which is named as Wazapp. You can download it from talk.maemo.org
