You may try it too. Less price but outstandin perform but it's camera don't have autofocus though pict quality is nice.

I'm from Portugal, but I think it's to expensive to acquire this phone here (350€).

In january 25th I'm going to the US, Vegas to be more precise.
Electronics are usually cheaper in the US, what's the N900's price in the US? Does it come unlocked, or I can only get it with an T-Mobile/Sprint/whatever contract?

The Nokia N900 is one of the best mobs on the market. I just got it 2 days ago and hell its good. Im gonna start : Screen - beauty WVGA resolution. 3.5 inch is the best scrren size. And the resistive touchscreen is the best ever. My brother has the HTC wildfire with tft capacitive touchscreen, and i somehow prefer the N900's resistive. Its very accurate. The only negative side is it doesnt have multitouch. But hey, there is a bright side; it has the rotate to zoom, on the web browser only, which works brilliantly.
The maemo 5 operaing system is the best on the market. Yes, it doesnt have many apps, but its very intriguing and perfect for multitasking :)
Side note: there are many cool apps with the infra -red port, such as using the N900 as a xbox controller, or as a tv remote :P
The 5 mp with carl zeiss is very good too. It has a cover, which when opened, opens the camera app :}
It also has a little stand so that you can watch films easily and stuff.
The music quality is very good too. 2 stereo speakers, one on each side outputs very good music.
And this is very important; It has a massive 32 gigabyte internal disk, upgradeable to 48 with micro sd cards. It has 256 mb ram, but it can go to 1 gb with virtual memory from the hard disk + it has a 600 Mhz cpu ( meamo is very efficient too) and a graphics card.
The keyboard is fantastic too. Lights up when you slide it out.
Little adds: It has a front facing camera, it has a sketchpad ( which is very cool) and there is an MSN application, called aMsn which is very cool, with video calls and everything. xD
Sometimes i open aMsn, facebok. music and msn altogether, no lag :D
So yes, choose N900 over Iphone 4. BUT thats is MY opinion. you go for your choice. Hope ive helped :)

I have bought a TMN locked n-900. but could not unlock it, I took it to several shops to unlock it but they said it could not be unlocked. Just a stupid question, if I install another OS such as meego or android, would you think this would solve the problem? just your opinions. Thanks.

Hamidybn, 27 Dec 2010i want to choose between N900 & Iphone 4. would you pl... moreits a bit hard to choose between iphone 4 and n900..this two product is a powerful machine,,maybe someone will pick iphone 4 right now,i also dun know the speciality of iphone 4,but too many people like iphone 4 and its more popular than n900..to me,its better 4 u to choose n900 bcause its cheaper than iphone 4 but,n900 also an hacker phone,n900 more to smallest pc that people call 'tablet pc'even though it is classified as smartphone...mybe u should buy NOKIA N900..just ignored iphone 4,the price are also to far than n900..tq

[deleted post]absolutely n900.if u wnt a great phone,just buy n900..yes,its not cool rather than n86,but n900 are more powerful than n86..n900 can support mny of emulator game such like gameboy advance..i 100% confirm that you will bored with n86 in just 3 days only if u buy it..but n900 will last 4ever,mybe u will not think about to change phone anymore after u buy NOKIA N900..its a bit heavy,but its too crazy..thats my opinion 4 u.thanks

Shivam, 25 Dec 2010guys i tell u the fact. n8 is good and the camera n8 has is... moretotally agree bro,,and firstly N8 is a phone,,and N900 is a tablet p.c, usually people confuses and they don't know the advantage of carrying an internet tablet.

benson, 26 Dec 2010Why the battery can't fully charge??? did anyone got tis k... moreno dude ,at bigening i also thought that it is not charging,but it's battery is different and specially design for Nokia N900, it takes 2-3 hours to fully charge, next time have patience, u 'll get the result.

Well, i've been a Nokia Fan since the analog phones. But, im not a blind fan, so even when i know that there are many good phones around with thousand of applications, i can't say that the N900 is a bad phone. Who buys a N900 its because he knows what he is looking for.
Applications is not the only reason to buy a phone.
I can also say that if u are only lloking for a phone to send sms and making calls, the N900 isn't for you, but if u like to investigate and have in your hands more a computer than a phone with unlimited power for modding and testing, then buy it.
Sure it has not many cool games like other phone has but u have tons of emulators and other games to play with, web navigation is delicious and soon we will have Meego update for this phone so u will be up to date again. Not to mention the overclock capabilities it has, it can make your phone live 1 or 2 more years.
Ive tried it and works perfectly without problems so. Give it a try !!

i suggest to all n900 users to be more creful when u r donwloading a program especially linex power kernel.ive download it,now im going to remove it from my phone..i just uninstall it from app mnager.,but it failed.later,i found that my camera in not functioning,,so i decide to reboot the phone,,but,its cannot be open anymore.now,my phone had been sent to the factory back to format it back..so,bcreful next time huh!!!do backup b4 doing anything...tq
