Thanks for all ur comments on Nokia N900. I've been using N900 for 3months now.it's a good phone but i don't enjoy most of the features bcos the battery does not last more than 6hours. Is this common to all or a peculiar problem and how can I improve the battery life. I bought a new battery but the problem persist. Will appreciate any advice

@shaan Depends. The N900 has Adobe Flash, which is suitable for some games, and the N8 has Java so i dont know which is best for sure. But the N900 is an internet tablet, so its internet will be very very good. And if you want to open more games at a time, the N900 is known for multitasking. I THINK the N900 is better, but im not sure. ^^

@anonymous The mob is very good if ur searching multitasking and internet and a physical keyboard. But then there are phones with capacative screens, so it depends what you're searching. But this is one hella good phone. Ive never actually tried but have seen it in real life and checked many reviews. The internet and multitasking is superb. The Maemo OS is my favorite mobile operating system ever. But its your opinion which counts, as I say.
Hmm it will cost between 480$ to 600$. IF you search well on the internet you can get it at 480$. I recommend trying the sites indicated on this website.

@shaan : Its your choice. In the terms of screen, the Nokia N900 has a better resolution screen, but it is smaller and resistive touchscreen, not capacative (and bigger) super Amoled touchscreen like on the N8. Then the N900 has a physical qwerty keyboard which he N8 lacks.
In terms of software, the N900 has Maemo 5 while the N8 has symbian 3. In my opinion, i like Maemo more. But thats just an opinion. Its what you like that counts.
In terms of hardware, the N900 has 256 megs of ram, and can take an additional 768 megs from the hard drive. The N8 has only 256 megs of ram. The N900 has 32 gig internal hard drive, upgradeable to 48 gigs with micro sd's while the N8 has only 16 gigabytes internal, upgradeable to 32 gigs by micro Sd's. But then again, the N8 has the best camera ever on any phone, and it really is very impressive. In small addition, the N900 has an infra red port, which is really very handy for some cool apps. The N900's camera is really good too. Nokia's cameras are among the best phone cameras.
In terms of price, the N8 costs more than the N900.
This choice is all about your personal preferences.
In my opinion, I'd like the N900 more, because i prefer Maemo, the keyboard and i don't need such an extreme camera. The camera on the N900 is pretty good too. :]

guys just wanted to share with you an app that has just become available in the extras-devel repo; it's called cuteTube. It lets you watch and download videos from Youtube. I've been using it the past couple of days and it's one of my favourite apps; works quite well and very stable (considering it's still in development), and love downloading my fave vids onto the phone. I've tried another similar app called Zoutube in the past, but it didn't work for me (couldn't download the vids)..but cuteTube works a treat. Looks great too!

s.strike, 25 Nov 2010hello everyone i am planning to get a nokia n900 , tired of... moreyou can upload map data onto the n900 like you can with symbian devices, however one key missing feature is that you can't search for places when you're offline. for instance, on symbian ovi maps, you can search for an address when offline. on the n900, you can scroll around the pre-loaded map, but you can't actually search for a place/address when offline. now if you have some idea where the address you're looking for is, then you can manually scroll to that area of the map. but then again, if you knew where the place was you probably wouldn't need a map in the first place!

s.strike, 25 Nov 2010hello everyone i am planning to get a nokia n900 , tired of... morethe ovi maps that comes with the n900 is a far cry from the ovi maps available for symbian devices. in short, if you intend to use the n900 as a stand-alone gps...don't. it's simply not good enough for that. for instance, there's no voice guidance and you can't "search" for places without a network connection. you can get sygic maps for the n900 which apparently works quite well, but it's not free. hopefully nokia will eventually update ovi maps for n900 to match the one for symbian..
