There is a High-Speed USB 2.0 USB Micro-B connector provided for data synchronization, mass storage mode (client) and battery charging. Unlike previous versions of Nokia's Internet Tablet, the Nokia N900 lacks support for USB On-The-Go (the ability to act as a USB host) at a software level, which was a deliberate design decision to meet the device's release deadlines.[57] There is an ongoing community effort to add this support subsequently.[58]
and about using usb on the go, here is the software named HEN which has just arrived in beta phase...:)

The USB port on these phones seems to go out a lot as did mine. I had a pleasant expereince getting it taken care of at a Nokia authorizer repair center in los angeles. They are called Wireless Waves and you can find them at www.shopwirelesswaves.com

I've bought my N900 in February 2010 and all I can say it's that this device it is indeed a mobile computer. Extraordinary gadget.

N8 is a great phone with pretty properties and good qualities but when it comes to extreme smart functionalities, N900 is the greatest ever. I'll definitely buy N8 to replace my N95 but One thing I know for sure is that there is know phone out there that can effectively replace my N900. So I'm stuck with my N900 untill meego highenders start hitting the shelves.

Can you cra... moreYes you can dual-boot (nitdroid, maemo, ubuntu), yes you can hack wireless networks, you can install any .deb debian software (also through easy debian) and nmap, dont know if you can overclock but you can underclock automatically to save battery, yes you can tether 3g through usb/bluetooth/wifi (mobile hotspot), yes you can vpn, yes you can install bittorrent, yes you can googletalk/skype with video, yes you can pushmail, yes you can facebook (jabber) and pidgin, yes it has flash, yes you can install chrome/firefox/opera/iceweasel/midori, yes it has s-video-out, yes it has stereo speakers, yes it has qwerty, yes this is a complete mobile command center!!

But i m sad now as i see tha... moreNooooooooo........ n900 is more more more better than n8... n8 has symbian 3 os n n900 has maemo 5 os. is much better than symbian... symbian is hanging phone... dont buy n8. i think u like n8 becz it have 12 mp camera right? but i advise u dont buy n8 n900 is very very good phone it have good touch experience than n8!

Hey guys does anyone know how to upgrade to the new maemo? i tried using lan but it kept sayin that i should use nokia pc suite. i connect the fone to the laptop with pc suite..keeps sayin same crap! HELP
