GSM, 12 Sep 2010An interesting observation- Even though N900 has not been ... morehi ppl
as far as nokia n8 is concernd...though the theorotical specifications look good but the operating system is symbian and the cost is way too high.so as a personal suggestion i would say dat if u want a taste of proper tech and pay a price high enuff then n900 is a better choice coz most of its features are comparable to dat of nokia N8 with a better operating system and if u want to try symbian operating system then paying so much is not worth it u could choose a simpler cell phone.as far as the cam resolution is concerned....i think ppl who tend to buy n900 or n8 expect much more from a cell phone then just cam to base their deceisions on mere cam resolutions nd not considering operating systems and cost effectiveness.
            thank you ppl......
            P.S
its a personal opinion.plz dont take it to ur heart.:)

GSM, 12 Sep 2010Dear all I would like to highlight something pertaining ... mored battery life is always better in places where the electric voltage is stable.say for example when u charge a cell in india u never know when u r gonna b out of light and when is ther going to b a waver of electricity all of which hurts cell battery, reduces its life and also the battery shows full onscreen but actually is not.but when u charge ur cell at maintained voltage for straight few hours till its completely charged u vl find dat even the worse of cell show max performance.one more advice on cell front.charge ur cell fone when switched off and avoid taking calls while u are charging the cell.

oh my god! this phone's platform really is troublesome! i have been using the n900 for nearly 2 months and i say the phone is actually slower than the n97 and n97 mini but the screen is very good plus the keyboard is nice.

I am disappointed with this phone.
Not what I expected and what I was told by the salesman.
If you like apps forget even thinking about the Nokia N900 it sucks

(happended in the first 5 minutes i bought mine, and nobody helped me figured it out, i just search, search, search). You guys wanted everything in your plate. Search, study, learn

Your device become "brick", thats the way they call it. You have to unbrick it. Download the "RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1....bin

You need a PC (XP recommended)

                                        Here are the steps :

1.Download and install the latest version of Flasher e.g. maemo_flasher-3.5_2.5.2.2.exe

2.Download the latest firmware (.bin) file and save it to %ProgramFiles%\maemo\flasher-3.5\ (the default installation path for Flasher) or to the custom path of your choice.

3.Ensure the battery is at least half full.
4.Unplug charger cable and switch off the device.

5.Open the Command Prompt (Start then Run ) and type cmd then press Enter.

6.Change the directory to the Flasher's path
                                        cd "%ProgramFiles%\maemo\flasher-3.5"
7.Hold the u key on the keyboard and connect the USB cable at the same time
                                        2.Run the following command
                                        flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_2.2009.51-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R

(Replace RX-51_2009SE_2.2009.51-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin with the firmware you wish to update)

The update will take approximately 4 minutes after which the N900 will reboot and display the Welcome Screen with Regional settings

You can do it by yourself...
