Jamil, 09 Apr 2010im confused between htc desire & n900.. 1 hs got 1ghz+5... moreI have the N900 and the Droid. From using both of them I love the way Maemo is designed. The multitasking on Maemo is unrivaled hands down. The web browser in Maemo is amazing I can go almost anywhere on the web and not have any problems. Android will be getting flash soon so their browser may be right on par with Maemo if not possibly better. As far as the RAM and processor goes the N900 is very quick and it doesnt lag or hang so your definitely fine there. Android definitly has alot more apps obviously but to be honest I get bored with them quick but thats just me. In the end both of them are very good OSes and the N900 is a great phone and I cant really say the Desire is or not but you should read some reviews online before you make a decision and also keep in mind that a new Meego device is suppose to be coming out later this year so may what to wait and see what that phone offers. Just my 2 cents lol.

600 to 700mhz should be enough for everyone plus you can preserve your device with a lower clockspeed ond the PR 1.2 update should make the OS even snappier than it already is

The N900 appears to be a great phone, but everyone I have spoken to is gobsmacked that it doesn't support MMS!!! :( Yes, that's right, it's got a camera and can take videos, but you can't send them to anyone else's mobile phone. These days, this is absolutely BASIC functionality on a mobile phone - not only for social purposes, but also for business.
I knew that the N900 didn't support VMMS, because the Vodafone guide shows that it doesn't, but it never even occurred to me that such a high specced handset wouldn't support MMS!
The handbook is absolutely useless - even the set-up instructions don't work, so I got locked out and had to visit my local Nokia Care Centre, who referred me to Vodafone to obtain the PUK code.
By the time that I'd found my way around most of the features, without the guidance from a decent handbook, it was a week from when I finally got the phone working that I discovered that I couldn't send pictures via MMS - outside the 7 days that Vodafone allow under their returns policy. Although, as far as I am concerned, without MMS, the N900 is 'NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE'.
I'm told that I can download an FMMS app
from OviStore to enable sending pictures, but I can't find anyone who has actually done it and don't yet know if it will allow me to send images to other people's mobile phones.
Vodafone should either withdraw the N900, or give it a huge great 'health warning', so that anyone who does want to send images is not conned into buying one.

Nokia n900 is the best of any other touch phone in nokia. But the os is not well finished and not so much supported utilized software.

Yes, I agree that it is good and even better than N97. But I still do not satisfy with its battery performance. You may compare that with N97 to find out what the difference is. I think it is good if the battery performance is as good as or just similar to that of N97. I like it and I do want to switch to N900, but the problem is here.

                                        :)
