Anonymous, 09 Dec 2009Just got the nokia N900. Apparently it is different in Finl... more1 ghz processor, more ram for your n900? boy will all others who got the advertise version of the n900 be pissed off if what your saying is true.

but, as of now, i am kind of skeptic about your n900 phone specs.

cant wait for others to chime in.

niti, 09 Dec 2009what is the difference betn N-900 & N-97? I hav to buy one ... moreN900 is better if you like open source stuff, however if you want a phone that has all the functions already installed and not wait for someone in the programming community to make an application, get the N97!

Just got the nokia N900. Apparently it is different in Finland than anywhere else... For example, my N900 has 64GB memory on the phone, a 1Ghz processor and 512MB RAM. I already went to check out the other version and it works great, but this highly tuned version is even better in terms of performance.

Anyway, in terms of usability, i don't give it that much points. There is a lot of things missing that i wish the phone would have had. I don't think anyone has noticed yet that the 3G Video feature doesn't work as there is no support for it yet. This is the problem. The phone is great, but the software is too behind.

There are also so many limitations to what the phone can be because of the software. Nokia should have at least included the basics, i mean video conferencing is a basic today on a phone, but they didn't. I guess someone will make a 3rd party application, but thats not the point.

Overall usability is good, the phone is extrememly responsive, i just hate the fact that it is all in landscape with no possibility yet to make it portrate, another missing basic.

My real problem with the phone is the silent profile. I guess its great that they elliminated all those silly profiles like meeting etc and left only 2, but the vibrate is just appalling. On silent mode, you'll be lucky to even feel the phone! I'm coming from a E90 and when it vibrated, you'd move accross a room, but to tone it down that much is rediculous. I've already missed important calls cause of this and not seen messages, and the phones been in my pocket the whole time. This is definatly a big negative and people using the phone will notice it pretty soon too.

Everything else is not worth writing about, cause you just have to experience it. I've used the iphone and when you compare, i'd take this anytime. Im not a loyalist, but being realistic, you're better off with this phone than an iphone!

toni, 09 Dec 2009there is no difference in the specifications. the only diff... moreare you serious,no difference. have you looked at the specs compared to n97,what about superior processor or twice the ram, not to mention vastly larger application memory(which n97 sucked at).oh and the super maemo operating system. n900 trumps n97 in just about every way.
