They've just shown the world a huge loss! Nokia will release the N900 when they're sure they've done all they can to ensure it operates without glitches. If Nokia were out to gouge the public for fast money they would produce phones for the masses like the ipnone. The iphone 3GS is a fantastic phone and it's designed to sell in huge numbers to the masses. That's not Nokia's game! Apple will show a huge, huge profit very soon. Their iconic marketing is pure genius and it is the general public who fill the pockets of Apple Inc. N900 is a phone for the serious customer, not for the "boys with toys". I'm willing to bet that the majority of iphone owners don't really need a smartphone. It's just a fashion statement. N900 is in a different league.

Actually this wouldn't work, since the N900's internal memory is "special", and I don't know if there is any 16GB memory that includes all the stuff that the 32GB does.
And no, it's not the same as the N97 (which BTW could have 16GB instead), because this have swap and ext3 memory as well.

They would come up with mighty phones and all in one phone or maybe change the stupid policy
My question, why the flick scrooll in web browser in n97 is not smooth if compared to n900?
Is it because of the lack of 3d hardware acc? Or the bad symbian web browser code?

I think nokia is playing game by keeping this phone waiting for long time, by the time it arrives market people who were opting for this phone wud already go for some other high end phone like HTC HD2 oe SATIO

Well i dont think there will be any problems changing or adding the following:
1. 16GB storage, external slot flash up to 32GB. 1GB Ram.
2. 8MP pixels camera, since theres n86, dual led flash, video light.
3. Maemo5 or 6.
4. MMS features.
5. FM radio.
6. JAVA.
9. Battery life 1500mAh or more.
10.Charging via USB from computer or laptop and covers for covering all important holes to prevent dust etc…
Cause Nokia already has this specs on other models.Or can just improve abit!

there are obviously some with better camera, better CPU and more RAM... but not on the same device, putting them all together is not possible at the moment
that's why imo the n900 is overall the best device, overall, but not the best in any specific characteristic
(besides from multitasking which is definitely the best and on a league of its own)

Would be nice if Nokia amend its specs before LAUNCH!!!
1. Scratch resistant surface, handwriting recognition.
2. 16GB storage, external slot flash up to 32GB. 1GB Ram.
3. 12MP pixels camera, 28mm lens, 3x zoom or more, xenon flash, dual led flash, video light and expression detection.
4. Maemo5 or 6.
5. MMS features.
6. FM radio ,FM recording 3.5 audio jack, DNSE 2.0 Digital Natural Sound Engine and Virtual 5.1 channel Dolby Surround etc...
7. CPU higher.
8. JAVA.
9. Battery life 1500mAh or more.
10.Charging via USB from computer or laptop and covers for covering all important holes to prevent dust etc…

if you what all those specs in a phone it would be like 200g and the size of a brick .... mobile technology is years behind to be able to put all of that together in a functional portable device.
I'd say stop speculating and wait for the device to be launched... supposedly only 10 days left!!!!

Nokia & Managment, i think alot of nokia fans wish that during this reccession period, we hope that u can just come up with your BEST phone. Even now samsung have more goodones. And Nokia is still coming out with your strategy phones which is half done! And another improved ones after few months. It makes me wanna change to other brands after using Nokia for so many yrs, i felt cheated! As for this superb N900, just wish the followings can be amended before the launch.or mayb on the next phone again...
