I was on the fence for a while with this phone. Everything sounds/looks good except for no portrait mode. Sorry, I don't use 2 hands often when checking or sending quick messages.

Now I learn that it doesn't support MMS? Sooo, I can't take a picture of something and immediately send it to one of my sisters or friends non-email equipped phone? Forget it. I will pass this one up and let it mature for a year or so. Then I may consider Maemo.

Here I come Samsung Omnia HD!!!

            For you nubs

Capasitve is mostly based on tech so better tech equals better response

Resesitive is more based on software the better the coding the better the touch response will be

Cap eg. Iphone and omnia HD
            Res eg. TP2 and n900

It depends on the UI if you'll ever need a stylus or not.

Personally I don't like stylus but there are some who are too used with it it let go.

Here some facts resistive vs capative:

                    Resistive:
                    *Low Costs
*Is a pressure based system, which reacts on how hard you push the screen
                    *Most precise with stylus

                    Capacitive:
                    *Higher costs
*System which reacts on electronic pulses when you touch the screen
                    *Most precise with finger

Some people think (iphone) capacitive screen is much nicer to look at, at this people i can see one thing; look at the HTC touch pro 2. Beaautiful screen ever with a resistive based touchscreen!

I've been using a Nokia 6100 since November 2002 and I still have the same battery! It still works but I'm upgrading to the N900 and I don't give a damn about resistive or capacitive. Its all new to me.

someone coming from captive will find resistive crappy at the beginning and the other way around as well

but I do believe that resistive is perhaps not that eyecandy and fluid yet, but it is far more useful and precise since you can use anything to make it work

In a meeting i can be subtle ab ex. checking my email with a closed pen on resistive...

Can't do that on iPhone and even if it would be resistive... it wobbles...

No the final answer is I won't go capacitative unless its both more precise and other-objects-than-finger- friendly.

And I can't use the tip of my finger on iPhone untill I zoom in quite a lot.

So what will your stance be if next year Nokia releases Maemo 6 phone's with capacitive screens?

although I didn't know that tapping the right side of the frame would work as a back button, I find that very useful
