I am unable to find the multi mobile messengers(nimbuzz or ebuddy) i have the version 5(20.2010.36-2)is the version upgraded or do i need an upgrade, after upgrade will i get the messengers? waiting for the reply.

There are not much apps in Maemo. I've installed Android on N900 and it's working good. You can install Gingerbread in N900. Tutorial is here- http://www.tech2go.in/2011/01/how-to-install-gingerbread-on-nokia.html

How to get system update or in other word what is the latest update for that phone N900 ?
The second is how to install "Community" (I just bought it) ?
N900 is not compatible with Whatsapp ? If so is there any other similar application ?

Is the community update better or the nokia OS update? i had installed community update n it was working fine...but now i have upgraded the OS update but community update features have vanished like auto rotate, potrait mode, etc etc....can it be made to co-exist?

Helloww all N900 User...
Finally got OS upgrade again in NOv 2011.
anyone has upgrade ? any improvement , icon , etc, etc ,etc ???
or better try to instal CSSU ?
mine has PR 1.3 but without CSSU. wnat to try CSSU if this upgrade is not so much different.
but somebody said if already install CSSU means cannot upgrade to nokia upgrade OS.

Unfortunately i was gonna give my N900 to my daughter, but her mother got all exited and took it, and got over drunk one evening and dropped it in a toilet, destroying the charger plug, and before it cud be repaired it was stolen from a drawer in the house while everyone was out.

I think i will buy a new one but $200+ for a good condition unit with complete accessories and xtra battery, leather case and car charger, still expensive? Ders aløso a $22 p&p. So i dont know... But i sure miss N900, its still the best and most complete fone ever made, even N9 cannot change that.

abt prices, lately i seen N97 sell for more than N900 on internet auctions, thats quite incredible and proves how little most ppl know about cellfones.

New firmware update for our beloved Nokia N900. “Only” one year after the last update, version 20.2010.36.2, we can enjoy the new firmware update, the version 21.2011.38-1.

With a size of 191 MB, features and performance improvements, updated applications and increased stability. Once we have the full changelog, we will publish on this post.

Well I too have encountered souch an error but I actually don't remember how I did it. I don't recollect the exact procedure on how I did it but something I did work out and I was able to rectify the problem. I think some conflicting package might be causing the problems. Well in my case I was unable to install any packages as each time it did display the same error log. You can try the following commands on xterm to see if the problem gets solved.

Xterm
root
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
apt-get autoremove
apt-get autoclean
apt-get purge

There is no particular order just try them and see if the error persists. purging should remove any conflicting packages or configuration files. Autoremove will remove any libraries with unmet dependencies so any broken packages will be removerd automatically. Hope this helps.

Greetings buddy...Well i had to reflash my nokia n900 due to some issue. Now after upgrading the OS, i m trying to re-install battery patch...I m not able to install kernel power and battery patch also. Speed patch i have installed according to the ways u suggested me last time but battery patch i m not able to install....this is the error i get while trying to install kernel-power and battery patch: "E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)"
Kindly let me know how to rectify this issue and install the kernel-power and battery patch?????

The update is to remove some DigiNotar certificates from the default browser which can prove threat and some minor tweakings, though not sure about exact changes made.
