Its the Best and outstanding extreme design in NOKIA
i just love such a modern and powerful handset
the thing that sucks me is just its price

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970This is the NEXT big thing. Name ONE thing that is better in the Iphone, just one, and then I'll forgive you.
Does Iphone have FREE software, like Firefox and OpenOffice, availible in its only "strength" (App Store)? No! There are far more Linux programs out there, and there's no phone which has more software support than the N900, simply because of the Linux-compatibility!
And, there's a difference between Linux (Maemo) and Linux (Android). While Maemo IS Linux, Android is only Linux-based, and can't run Linux programs. And the worst with Android is that it's basicly Google-locked, while Maemo is completly free from any monopolistic company (Microsoft, Apple, Google to name a few).
Don't get this wrong, without the Iphone this wouldn't have this smooth User Interface. It sure did help the evolution of phones, but seriously, is there a single reason to get an Iphone over this? N900 is even CHEAPER!!! As new innovations come, the market changes, and now we finally have a superb phone with BOTH good hardware and good software, which was very hard to find in the N95-era (when phones were EITHER nice-spec'ed or good-looking, NOT both).
You have to agree about that Nokia had to come up with something new here... I mean since the N95/N82 in 2007 they have constantly been beaten by Samsung (Innov8 in 2008 and Omnia HD in 2009). But now, hopefully, they've finally made it...

This is great, you can easy run windows XP, windows7 on it with emulator, just like 5800xm is running win95 and is on test about winXP this days.

Nokia seems they do not know how to make capacitive phone!
Look at the recently announced 5800 younger brothers touch phones, thy are all resistive, no even a single capacitive phone:(
I prefer glass to he plastics, bothe resistive and capacitive have their own pron and cons, I know them well

i like a good resistive touchscreen better than a capacitive touchscreen
and really, i almost placed my order for Omnia HD the day before yesterday -- so happy i hesitated :-)

better consider buying a laptop instead.
No matter how,we will be seeing lot of N900 user with no pant... all pants get stripped down due to too heavy brick.
If Noki$ really want to rock up the Maemo OS, please be sure that the flagship phone is great design, user considerable, high end.
This is the only Noki$ marketing trick. Shame on you Noki$

This phone has more virtual runtime memory, which is important as well.
And it has the OMAP3430-platform, which includes more than just a CPU and a GPU: 600 MHz ARM Cortex A8 + PowerVR SGX 530 GPU + 430MHz C64x+ DSP + ISP (Image Signal Processor). Even if the CPU and the GPU is the same, everything else is better.
Anyway, there is NONE single spec which is worse on this compared with Iphone, NONE AT ALL. Yes, really...
