to Aaron: 2.10 might be in some of the latest N91's but its more likely you will get one with older sw. The update is not OTA (over the air) but rather OTI (over the internet).

Also - I watch 140 Mbyte full MPEG4 movies on my N91 (iRobot, Fantastic 4, etc). It can handle them. I have also indtalled many SISX files on the HDD. The RAM can handle it if you do one at a time (ie runig a movie, playing a game etc will chew up ram). Also I find some 3rd party apps leak memory so I power cycle the phone to clear RAM. Also note the N73 does not compare to the N9a when it comes to sound!

to Morne: I just say keep trying. The operators are slow to approve. Also maybe some opertators are not available for NSU so perhaps you should call the Nokia centre and ask.

to Clare; The version 2.10 I refre to is the sw not the updater version. Sorry for the confusion

To Kris - You have to remove a theme using the application manager. The N91 has 32 Mbytes ROM however half of that is used up with the sw and stuff Nokia puts there. So user get 14-16 Mbytes (depends on your variant etc). Hi yes with pc suite you can just disconnect (after a transfer is done)

to Rx - Yes. Basically what you did was reformat the MMC (like the HDD). This was part of the tips which says you need to format your HDD after a sw update AND re-install applications/themes properly (ie do not ust drag and drop the HDD image from PC back onto the N91)

to kris, the same thing happened on my E61. my advise is, remember to uninstall the themes next time before do firmware upgrade. i did a firmware upgrade, thought it would wipe out everything. but in the end i left the themes untouched, but can't uninstall it. luckily i put everything on mem card, so i just reformat the card.

Hi.. just add one more question..:)

          1. When I want to disconnect my phone with PC in PC Suite mode, there aren't any option to disconnect, so should I just unplug the USB cable?

          Thanks!!!

Hi, I have 2 questions.. can anyone please help..

            1. I can't delete any theme on phone memory installed by me (im on sw2.1). i pressed the 'C' button after select the theme, but it doesn't do anything.. also there aren't delete option from the menu.. If I have to flash the phone memory, is there a way that leaves all my current phone settings?

            2. My N91-1 only has 15MB phone memory, isnt it suppose to be 30MB?

            Thank you!!:)

I'm actually torn between N91 and N73. N73 is nice and cheaper but I'm having second thoughts if I can expand it's memory capacity from what is already indicated with the phone 'cause according to the Nokia website, it's only up to 1GB. What a pity for a phone with lots of functionality if that's actually true! And now, I'm trying to find out a couple of things more before I make my final buying decision. Can I definitely store files other than image, video and music files in the N91's HDD, say for example, installers (SIS/SISX files)? Can I install some 3rd party programs like Smartmovie, Opera web browser, MP3 player and some other useful tools all at the same time in the phone's hard drive? Can I download bulky files like MP3 songs and videos directly from the phone? I've seen a site that has free movies in AVI format of which are some 18MB+ large. Can N91 really actually handle all these loads and tasks considering the small amount of RAM it has? I need your knowledge to help me find for the answers to all my questions and I would deeply appreciate if someone will share me what he knows about all of these. Many many thanks and more power to y'all.

Thank you so much for the reply. I've one last question. Is SW 2.10 already equipped in the N91 handsets circulating in the market? Or is that version only available through OTA upgrade? Many thanks!

                        Hi
                        Pappy and everybody,
I m just wondering nobody is mentioning about se w950 in here.Actually i was in impression that may be w950 havea better sound quality than n91,i heard and tested my friends w950 yesterday,i heard a same song on both phones with same headphone with same setting, but now i m very glad to say that i was wrong that w950 have a better quality. i dont what potencial n91 have?, its really amezing ,n91 produced incredible music . atleast for me the battle between both phones has ended now. N91 WINS in terms of great sound quality ang in every aspects. i luv my great n91 more than my girlfriend. n91 rulzzzzzzzzzzzzz forever.

                                Hi Aaron

The early N91 Sw (1.xx) had some bugs etc that needed to be worked out. People who are complaining about the N91 are people who have either not bothered to update their sw (which you can do easily at home now) or have friends who have not.

People on 2.10 have nothing but good things to say. Also if for some reason you want to format the HDD (ie to update the sw) you can easily back it up first on your PC.

I suspect now the price is sweet so if you want amazing sound but it. Also take a look at the tips (a user name "someone" posted them recently here - use the search bar below). 2.10 sw and those few tips - and youll love your N91

                                pappy

I'm planning to buy N91 because I need that 4GB to store all my music and other files and carry them with me. But I'm getting discourage because of the negative reviews I've been reading about this phone.,What exactly is the problem with N91? Is it operating too slow? Or can a serious problem possibly occur in the future that can only be remedied by reformatting the phone and eventually losing all the files stored? I thought OS9.1 is more extensive and safer. Please help me decide.. Thank you.

Mobile9 has screensaver downloads for the N91, but the screensaver on the phone is only date and time or text.
can anyone help me find a animated screensaver programme for my phone as i've searched high and low.

                                    another thing:
South African Operators do not support push to talk

it is possible to use a mp3 for your message alert and alarm. just save the file under digital sounds on your phone's hard drive
