Hi Paul

No problem. I am located in the UK. Its weird that Singapore is not at 2.10. Anyhow the major differences from what I can gather

1- SMS accelerator. 2.00 did not have this embedded so you need to load the small sis file. See the USer tips link I posted a few posts back. In there there is a link to this.

2- Other than that just some minor issues (eAAC+ songs do not pause a FWD properly. Some 3rd paty applications by the company HANADGo do not work).

No big deal but i would keep trying for 2.10 from time to time since it will probebly show up

    Pappy:

I've a non-operator branded Nokia N91. I actually purchased the N91 from Nokia Singapore. Funny that, as I am only able to upgrade it to 2.00, not version 2.10 as you had stated.

Any major or minor differences, however, between SW version's 2.00 and 2.10? I'm much happier though, that SW 2.00 is remarkably more improved compared to SW 1.10, and neither the N91's hard drive doesn't crash nor the phone hangs.

Oh, by the way, I'm located in East Java in Indonesia. Pappy, whereabouts are you located?

Thank you again for your continued advice and comments, it has made my usage of the N91 much easier and more pleasant.

        To Amir

        1) No they either use USB or what they cal a service battery? They do not have to unsrew the phone

        2) You mean a laynard hole - no

To Daniel - see stuff magazines comparison of SE and N91...N91 audio wins hands down.

How do i expand the Camera Viewfinder so that it takes up the whole screen like the 6280 or SE K750i?

and will the NYC Nokia Store Flash My N91 To the Latest Firmware for free or how much will i have to pay?

Where Can I Find ROMS For VGBA?

Just buy the Sony Ericsson W950. Better for music and if you already have or dont need a camera phone (bear in mind this is only 2MP - eequivalent to the likes of a NOK6233/SEK750I/W800I/SAMSUNG D600 etc), and so what if it has wi-fi. Big deal. The phone is large. its like a metallic house-brick with bluetooth!

£150 is a really good price for that phone, and despite the weight/size its probably the best phone i've got even if you don't like it you could resell it on eBay for twice the price

Dear pappy thanks for ur reply
                      now two more questions
1-in order to reflash the phone, do they open it to inside part at the service center or will do it via usb port or sth like this?
2- not related to my problem, is there sth like a loophole on the phone to use a neck band or a wrist strap

                        To Amir

I cannot be 100% certain of course but my guess is that all you need them to do is reflesh the sw at a service centre that thas that "phoenix?" sw set up. The cost cant be that much? You would have to ask.

                              to Nick

You format it using tools/harddrive/options/toos/format HDD

No you do not have to do this after installing a SISx file

                              pappy

And one more question: How do I format the HDD and is this operation necessary after a new SIS application will have been installed ?

Amir - I believe you should not be running PC suite during the update. It may be that your phone is now brain dead. (ie was half way thru the update). The FAQ page is clear that if this happens it IS covered under warranty so just do the old fashion thing and bring it to the Nokia centre. Its a hassle but ther eis nothing wrong with the device.

AMR - yes I have been getting you confused with Amir sorry. You stated that you did not format the HDD. So what has happened is that when you install a SIS file etc even if installed on the HDD "some of it" is installed on the Phone ROOM usually. If you uddate the sw without reformatting the HDD (and re-installing) the phone detects that something is partially installed. It may even run an "installing: everytime you start up. In the end it sees it as installed. Its not a big issue and you can decide whether you want to do the whole format HDD or just live with a few themes being shown as installed in app manager

Hoeynarda, Paul - Have you an operator branded device? All the countries are at least on 2.00sw. 2.10 I suspect is still finishing ip rolling out.

Sam Harvey - upgrade to 2.10

The phone is really reaaly amazing , just the best sound quality compared to any portable audio player in the world. The feature packed with the phone r nt available in any other phone at such low cost........the N93 is pretty expensive........this is the best set.........the only good performing set after the Sony P910i
