hey people, Now latest firmware v21.0.016 is available for Nokia N95. only download is available for Euro Code 1. I just checked so I am going to update my phone to new version updater v21.0.016. If you want to check yours then download updater for your N95.check below website.

dear johnny the sliding thing part is actually meant not to automatically launch the "multimedia menu" its a new feature I think noia opted it to be that way since most people exit the multimedia aka fun menu after sliding the n95 to open the multimedia keys hehe

Physically it seems the chinese "fake" n95 have exactly copied the original asian n95
except the camera with the carl zeiss label in the fake one it seems the carl zeiss label lens cover is made of aluminum foil while on the original its gray plastic
if you are not too familiar with the original n95's physical aspects
here's a sure way to ensure your n95 is genuine
first inspect the battery if it has a genuine nokia seal
second upon turning on the phone the nokia logo startup with the familiar nokia tune should be normal and fast...the animation of holding hands shouldnt be laggy
and the nokia tune is exactly the same tune with that of other nokia models the fake n95 has an extended version of this tune after powring it on there would be an extension of the menu and the nokia logo would be laggy
now when the menu shows up there should be a WLAN scanning option at the lower middle of the active standby screen as only the original n95 has wlan/wifi
second if you are familiar with series 60 3rd edition interface you will instantly recognize that the fake n95 has a different menu layout upon entering the "messaging folder" applications folder..etc if you are not too familiar try pressing the multimedia key located at the right of the center button of n95 it should give you a good graphical interface and give you more options
next slide the n95 downwards fake n95's either cant slide down to show the multimedia keys or if they can the fake n95 will launch the music application automatically as the fake n95's multimedia keys(the ff,rew,stop,pause) keys can only be used for music
THE genuine n95 can use the multimedia keys to play videos and the fake ones cannot!!!
next check the camera open up the camera see if it is autofocus if you are not familiar with autofocus it's the white square in the middle of the viewfinder of the camera when you are taking a picture check if the camera while moving has a smooth and fast response time genuine n95 has a smooth camera viewfinder just like a regular digicam!!! if it lags or the picture lags specially on poor lighting conditions its a fake!!!
try to check the settings there you will find the picture quality fake n95's would only give you VGA resolution and some fake n95's has the "2mp" label on the back even though it is only VGA
genuine n95 has 5mp picture!!!
try recording some videos and see if it is smooth and of good quality if it is good quality and the framerate doesnt lag except when set to night mode fake n95's lag terribly and only shoot at CIF at 15fps max and its quality is terrible (very out of focus) compared to CIF videos taken with genuine phones

I made an update to my software on my n95, from the official web side of nokia. And now, when i slide in the music option i can not see the fun menu(you know the one with the moving icons). how can i fix that?
PS: The phone can not finish a call, if u slide down only. Can i fix that 2?!?!

N95-3 will work with roger's 3g in canada, but n95-1 will not.

dear sir ramin, from what I read, n95-1's 3g only works for euro and asian...n95-3 is for U.S. 3g and only works for a single telecommunications carrier...at&t(?)

dear sir ismail...if you are using nokia firmware version 20(newest working firmware of n95)
from my experience,after charging it at midnight then using it the next morning, after using wifi and listening to mp3s using a headset for 3 hours my battery gauge drops a single bar
surprisingly
gaming for 30 minutes and using the camera taking videos a total of half hour length and then watching the videos taken for 30 minutes and watching the whole video clip of viva hotbabes gone wild for 1 and a half hour
only makes the battery drop a single bar...
that was at around the afternoon
that was at around afternoon then at around 1 am past midnight I still had 3 bars left before charging the fone again hehe
with n95 version 12 firmware though the battery life is alot shorter after charging the fone to full battery,
watching an hour length of video and using the camera recording just about 10 minutes of video clips already drains 3 to half of the battery gauge...and if someone calls you and you talk for about 15 minutes...battery is almost empty with 1-2 bars left
and I found out that listening to mp3s for 2-3 hours on a fully charged battery in version 12 firwmare already drains 2 battery gauges!
bottomline...those people who say that n95 has a very weak battery may have version 12 firmware and below...
if you're n95 is at version 20 it is a whole new world of difference..from the menu to the speed of the OS and the battery life is almost as long lasting as the battery of w900...hmmm maybe Im exaggerating in the battery life being comparable to w900 (since w900 lasts for 2 days of heavy useage and its battery isnt drained yet...)
but one thing is certain, battery life of n95(version 20 of firmware) is alot more powerful than what people make it out to be...closer to being like n82 (granted that the n82's xenon flash is always used for taking pictures)

i wondered to know is Nokia N95 first generation works with US/Canada 3G network or no because in specification in this website says that it works but i have 3G sim card from Rogers In canada but it doesn't work

To New user, just pick up on internet program called Pic2Theme and instal directly to your N95, there you can make your own themas...and it work...hope this help you...

you won't put your any wallpaper with full screen mode like sony ericsson phones,symbain dosent allowed to do that,this can work only with java based mobiles like 5610,6288,6270,6280....

i have crop my baby photo n now it looks good on the phone wall paper. but is not full screen like theme. is just not so nice..
anyone can help? any ways to help make even photo put as wallpaper also will be full screen that look like theme??
