for the last four days of using the n95 I was beginning to believe all those criticisms agaist the n95's battery power those last four days are the only days that I found myself having to bring a charger with me for just by viewing 30 minutes of a video clip would bring my n95 battery draiing two-three bars already taking a video clip of 20 minutes length would almost bring the phone begging to be recharged back
using WIFI for 20 minutes almost drains my battery by 2 bars as well
I thought this mighty giant may have it's achilles heel and its the worst waterloo any phone of this calibur could get...its weak battery life
I thought to myself that this fones battery is very very very very inferior to that of the 6233 which could last for days...
that was when I was using a version of n95 with 12.0.013 firmware
last night I thought to myself...to update it...against the odds and fear of the phone being corrupted considering my dsl connection kinda messes up every 30 minutes I took on the risk of updating it
it was the longest 30 minutes of my life but it was all worth it
as I was able to watch a 2 hour clip without a slight hint of the battery going out anytime soon..it was still at full bars...
listened to music for 2 hours...the battey never budged
friends of mine viewed the clip that I downloaded to my phone it was a movie...another 2 hours of continuous usage and the battery drained 2 bars after a few calls and text my battery was still at its half life even playing games while using the wifi for another 2 hours has not drained my battery by abit
even up to now as I type this my battery is still at 2 bars hehehe nokia at version 20.0.015 did a very good job in updating it
and not only that but I found some of my ngage games to run better and smoother too specially BIA 3d heheeheh and not only that, this is my first experience of having a fone that a firmware upgrade would totally change the whole layout of the main menu of the phone....ITS LIKE A NEW PHONE!!!!...faster, am able to browse heavy webpages faster,the whole menu is alot cooler, lots of added stuffs, the added "search" funtion is very very very useable it is a totally new experience and not only that hehehe I compared this fones camera startup time to n82 the n82 is just a bit faster by point something seconds!!!! its that FAST!!! heheeheeheh and even the saving part they improved it by noting the processing image time hehehe its even as fast as the k800 in saving pictures....too good!!!

The build is top class! but the OS?? Is total crap. Keeps restarting and freezes often

Hey Allan how do you go about upgrading firmware do you need a flasher or do you just need a usb cable and software and a computer?

you can't set up wallpaper to full screen.
download full screen themes for your N95, which gives background color as well.
type: www.zedge.net, with this you need register free and then you can download free themes such as Cars, Natural and technology etc.

My n95-1 is made in china and the n95-3 is the america version. The only differance that i know of is the n95-3 will work with live video calling in north america and the n95-1 will not, at least in north america. 20.0.015 you get you tube, n gage gaming, better battery and more.

So whats the difference between the Nokia N95-1 & N95-3, They both are GSM 850mhz, 900mhz, 1800mhz & 1900mhz. They will work any where in the world right? And
whats up with people flashing & reinstalling newer versions of firmware? Whats the benifit of upgrading firmware, what are the changes of upgrading & how much dose it cost to upgrade firmware.

You have to download the voice guidance over wi fi after you pay for your navigation, otherwise you will have navigation without voice guidance.

Gps is $15.00 a month in canadian funds through a company called open bit. To the other person below it's voice guided navigation.

the battery is really not that bad on N95-3 american verison.. it has bigger battery and more memory compared ton N95-1. so if you want to buy n95 make sure its the version three... the difference is that n95-3 and n95-1 is the version 3 has no cover on its camera and it has bigger battery. =)

How do u put the Nokia Search application on the mainscreen like there are wlan and calender options like they have put the Nokia Search app on N95 8GB mainscreen.
p.s. i have Nokia Search ver 4.0

i brought one of these when they were first relesed, amazing phones, but i have noticed it's way better now that I have the Euro Software upgrade. I would think it would be hard to find anyting to compete, however I will upgrade when a phone washes my cloths. :)
