actually, the nokia n95 classic can support any sdhc out there, from 256 mb to 8gb and soon to be 16 and 32gb, the only reason it isnt stated is because the n95 was made when 4gb was the biggest, i have 8 gb card in there and it works fine, 16 and 32 will work :) all hail the n95-1 and 3!

I have a 8Gb card, would you know which firmware upgrade I might use to support the 8 bg card?

Hey , i'm using 4GB mem card from Sandisk (HC) on my N95 1st edition. Acutally 4GB is the maximum standard capacity for N95 for the time being. People on the net says that 32GB is possile(By Theory) with firmware upgrade. Lets see how in future...

I can expand the N95 memory capabilities by adding a MicroSD memory card to 2 Gbytes. Is 2GB the most I can increase the memory, or I can go to a bigger card?

I bought this phone pure and simply for the features and was nervous about the menu system due to past experience.......I wish I hadn't bought it!

                    Bad Points!

If you wear jeans or anything tight the slider will move and the screen comes on, this means the battery will die very quickly.

Battery life is poor at best, use any apps and the bettery life becomes an issue.

Maps, O2 were very quick to warn me about the cost if I used their network for positioning (which the phone will do if it can't use gps and you don't turn the feature off), apparently it can be EXTREMELY costly, To use maps for navigation you either have to pay £6 a month to O2 for positioning through their network or you buy access to the maps stored on the phone for unlimited use. Maps activated while it was in my pocket once which scared the hell out of me.

Maps kills the battery, so only use it briefly or get an in-car kit. Also gives silly directions like take 2nd exit on your left when it could say turn right.

Dodgy operating system, I'm fed up with plugging in the charger to find it hastn't seen it and not charged by the next morning.
Had to reboot it a number of times.

Menu system, Nokia always seem to use 6 options where 2 options would probably do, however this is general thing with Nokia and I guess some people love them or hate them, I'm on the latter, the less buttons to press the better. I don't like to search for options either.

I'm still looking for a way to disable the god damn slider so that the keyboard lock doesn't disable leading to battery death, I've only had the phone 6 months and I'm still looking.

                    Good points!

Alarms are Very loud and well configured. You are not going to miss a call, but I've never felt the vibro alert yet.

Good camera if you can get familiar with it's funtionality.

Communications (Blue tooth, wifi) is very quick.

Standard earphone socket, you can use any headphones with this model, why can't other manufacturers allow this?

Player, not tinny, has a bit of base.

HI all i used to have n95 and now sold it to get n95 8gb,,anyhow that not relavent,,wat i want to say is that we never say where we are from and that can mean a whole lot of difference in the fone and wat is permitted,,for e.g.

it says in the handbook subject to network connection,,coverage,,network support,,operater support or network dependant so even something as simple as call barring may not be allowed on certain networks and that statement means the whole world,,so wat might be relavant here in Cheshire UK might mean its not relavent in germany,,so it would help if we put were we are from but even then you would still have to contact your operater in that specific country for advice on network dependant functions,,

I also think that people get angry about apps when they are only in testing and are not really available to the general public,,apps are thouroughly tested by persons globally using the symbian open source alliance and individuals and not actually by nokia,,so if you wanted to create a theme it would have to be working before its released not half done,,nokia do not make most of wats on your machine its individuals who write the code to share with others as symbian open source software,,if you invent somthing and everybody emailed you for the app you would get bogged down with requests,,its better just to wait till its officially released and fully working surely..

once again . You have to pay for navigation, but the voices you download after using your phone. No sense having voices without navigation. Month to month payment if you want. Open bit.

I just purchased this N95 from Vodafone here in Australia. He told me that I could download voice from nokia and pay about $180 for 3 years use. but he also told me that if i searched the web i would find a free download and free use of voice software for the n95. I am going to see him tomorrow and give him a piece of my mind ,,, a large piece. I am assuming from this forum that no one has or knows of free use software for the voice ... its all pay for its usage. I was misled badly.

Yes i got your message AL, but i have no idea what you mean. I have been to openbit web site but you can;t download or pay for anything....i go to navigation and under otions there is extra services. When i select that it asks me to go to nokia and pay and download its map voice service ...so i am frustrated beyond belief.

Got to try out the new nokia n95 right out of the box, i was so excited get a hand on it... and it is very lightweight for its size... but as soon as i was about to take a picture, the phone hanged and restarted... and restarted and restarted on its own.. so i removed the battery and turned it on. There was a message saying something like "phone startup failed, please contact your retailer", so i restarted again but now when i open the camera the phone restarts again.. args..
