This phone is amazing, I've had mine to nearly two months now and couldn't be happier. Is it perfect? No. Did it more than meet realistic expectations? Absolutely, yes.

Many of the problems people are having with the phone appear to be user-related. For example the GPS is fine for people who aren't technically challenged, or people who know how to use google to get help. There are of course some limitations to the device, as with anything.

      Specifically:

      THE BATTERY:
Battery needs charging everyday on moderate-heavy use, I charge it overnight and this is barely a drawback for me. Total power users may need a second battery/USB charger/car charger to get through the day. Whether this outweighs the positives depends on the user.

      OS SPEED/STABILITY ETC:
Its fine. No problems here, maybe handful of restarts in two months, and thats with heavy use of third party software. It is limited in terms of multi-tasking ability, I rarely use more than two applications simultaneously, and the camera in particular must be used alone. Again, individual users will have to make up their own mind on exactly how much of a drawback this is.

      BUILD QUALITY:
Mine is fine, although slider has loosened very slightly with heavy use for two months (not problematic at all, but I have noticed it). My Fiances one is perfect still, although her use is far less heavy. I doubt many people would use their phone more than me, so how much play your slider develops would fall somewhere in the spectrum between mine (slight) and my Fiances (none), at least for a two month sample period anyway.

      MEMORY CARDS:
The 4gb Micro SDHC cards, which will be becoming widely available soon work with this phone. 8gb cards on the way next year, and eventually the technology will reach 32gb.

At the start I downloaded the maps function off map loader, and I only got the main roads which was gay! I then reformatted the memory card and downloaded the maps tile by tile via wifi and now I've got every street in Melbourne. You only pay for GPS if you want voice guidance (as it downloads the voice files) or if you are in a place you haven't already downloaded. I recommend using wifi to download maps and plan routes before leaving your house so all the neccessary maps are downloaded.

I rang Nokia and they said for GPS to locate you is free.

Otherwise the phone is great! I downloaded heaps of games on it.. Only problem is that the screen makes a high pitched buzzing/humming noise that is really annoying when you're talking (gives me a headache).. Had 2 handsets that do this.. Any1 have this prob??

                Hi guys and gals

as you all know from my many many previous posts, i am now on my 3rd Nokia N95
i have had this one since the 4th of April this year
and still this phone is doing my head in!
it keeps restarting all the time, the clicky wobbly slider and high pitch noise were apparent in both of my first 2 handsets..
my Nokia Bluetooth headset (model: BH-900) takes 4-5 attempts before it actually stays connected! keeps disconnecting!

ok, can ANYONE tell me if im being over-sensitive, but on the keypad where the RED and GREEN buttons are, do ANY of you have a lot of wobbling and a lot of give on this itself or minor movement? or is it absolutely solid as a rock with no movement whatsoever?
it feels loose and tacky, trouble is im on an 18 month contract and i want this phone to last the duration!

i got through to the 02 Returns team and spoke with this really arrogant snotty stuck up twat who said that i have to return the handset and be without my N95 for 5 days!
he was extremely sarcastic and just didnt care what i was saying
I said this was unacceptable! i made a formal complaint on his attitude

im on an 18 month contract paying £40+ a month!!!
one of the team leaders very kindly organised a straight doorstep swap after owning the 3rd handset for over 2 months now.
normally its no more than 28 days! so thats a result
i just wanted to know of any recent 02 online customers having the same problems i have had as stated above
or am i too expect my 4th replacement with wobbling sliders, high pitch noises, loose pads where the green and red buttons are?

I purchased this mobile a month back. Overall a good phone, except it is bit slow and battery backup is very poor.

                    Camera is quite good.

It is a very ugly phone but it is still a great phone ive never really like nokias and i still dont, although it has everything, its kind of a waste of space since most people wont need everything crammed into it.

there is something about GPS: you can use it without simcard, provided previously downloaded the map.

I am not normally a Nokia fan at all but this seems like a good handset. Ok the battery power is poor but the sound quality is good the camera is spot on, although a bit overkill for a phone I think but then again people may say I claim that cause my handset is 3.2MP. On the whole a well made phone which if you can cope with the power problems then would be a great buy.

I'm a Nokia die hard fan. I don't understand why people complain about the phone when u have issues with the phone why not take it back to where u bought it n get new one. This is the best phone from design to the features and i'm sure if anyone who complains get N95 with no bugs then i'm sure u will say only good things about. For me only the battery is the issue but the good thing electricity is always available. I hope anyone with the problem with this phone will be recitified soon. What i would say is N95 is the best phone available in market and around the globe. If u have money get it if not then someday u will n the price will be down.
