John alert---Nokia may have Java but still some games you can not play in Nokia as u can in SE also the Auto Focus of SE is better then Nokia as it can capture text as well and gives very clear picture if you want to check just compare it with SE K800i pics and you will know what am i talking about also Nokia despite in the market for many years, its market share, new inovations etc is still struggling with the low power battery. You tell me how good is N95 ? very good indeed but with fuctions like these it should last longer in battery life, Also the Physical Quality of Nokia is decreasing with every future model you can compare N80 with N95 and will see the diff, but SE Quality is still good i can feel the solid K800 in my hand also i have SE-K800i, W850i,W810i and Nokia-N70 & N95 and i have checked these products in detail i really hated Nokia before but after the launch of N95 i changed my mind its very gud but still battery prob, hangs some times, restarts by itself, disturbance when using with BT headphones also its not made correctly because you can see scratches just above the number "3" button of every N95 caused by opening and closing of the slider Now tell me what do you have to say abt Nokia and yea its Sliding mechanism is also very cheap and not good like Samsung and SE, i think its the time Nokia should start thinking what they r doing.

My name is John alert i have been working with M.R Neel gordman who is G.M of nokia for middle east.
well i have seen lots of rubish comments first of all i would like to say on every moment people say SE is better this n that today let me clear you one thing Nokia can not be compared with SE becasuse it has java functionality which are divided in to many phones so in world best functionality phone from 2002 to 2007 is nokia since nokia had release the first phone 7650 to be really honest with you guys SE just wait for nokia to launch certain product and than they tes what are the disadvantages of of it and than they launch their model

You guys can possibly think that why nokia phone is released first cpmare to sony many walk man phones u will find 2 mp camera no wifi and i think majority dont have auto focus while compare to nokia n73 has 3d sound 3.2 camera stero wideining any way

my point is if u guys been through the certificates of nokia you guys will find this un nessasary
so there is no chance that nokia can be compared with se if you see (connectivity, durability, market share,3g performance and now last but not least HSDPA)
I Hope now you ppl will understand the difference
                  Peace
                  John alert

                      Hi Patrick

You never said where you were. I bought mine from Paris, France. It was delivered to me here in Dublin. 567 euro + TAX (VAT).
It actually arrived yesterday evening, and I never clicked the send button for my last posting untill earlier today.

Initial preview is: Yes the slider is not as smooth as E65, but I cannot see it being a problem, as it clicks into either of its 3 positional spring loaded clinks with ease and holds well also.

I have tried out most of it this morning (after an overnight charge). First thing i did was upgrade the firmware to V 11.0.026 by means of nokia software updater. you can find your version by going to tools/device manager.

It seems to be important that you you exit programs not in use as they run in background, and do not clog up memory. There is a memory management tool, which i did not look into yet.

I set up my wireless LAN quite quickly (even with its WPA encription). Browsing was a cinch. Once you bookmark all your FAV sites, the lack of QWERTY keypad should not be too much of a hindrence. I was also able to set up one of my POP3 email accounts in seconds with its wizard.

When using programs like web browser or email, it is best to have it set to ask you what way you want to access internet (Wlan or GPRS etc) Then when u click the program it will then ask you which. Of course it is always preferable to connect through your home wireless network (its fastest and free).

I have only taken a few snaps and a minute of video. seems well up to scratch. will test more later. The screen is brilliant. You could easily watch a movie on this screen.

I did not test the GPS as I have a Garmin Nuvi SAT NAV with bluetooth in my car. Will test N95 GPS later.

Bluetooth: First it tried to connect to the bluetooth of my Nuvi (it has built in handsfree for phone). It connected without a problem and I was able to make/receive calls but I will need to upgrade my Nuvi's firmware to use features like phonebook.

Battery: Have not got it long enough, but initial observations seem to suggest it will last 2 days on moderate to heavy use, 3 to 4 days on moderate to light use. When I bought my SE K800i last year, the first charge only lasted a day. This is mainly due to the fact that when you gets a new phone, you are inclined to use it a lot more than normal on the first few days tring out new things, putting in new setting etc. Will report further on the battery next week (from The Philippines)

LOOKS: This phone really looks the business. It is unbeleivable that Nokia fitted so much into the N95. It is about the same thickness as the K800i, about 7mm wider, but 7mm shorter. It feels about the same weight as the K800i. As you can see from the pics most of the front is taken up with the screen, which looks huge against the 800. Looks big beside the E65, but the E65 is a is a very neat package (WLAN wireless too)

Bro musta? Regarding your concern with pricing I'd just like to update you. N95 right now is selling at 32-33k those are the ones with nokia care warranty. I sell phones myself and my source is one of the official nokia suppliers here in Manila. so there units are 100% good.

hey there people, i just wanted to say im a true Nokia fan, or should i say i was! This phone let me down a lot, i had it for 2 months and out of those 2 months the battery only last more than 1 day on 2 occasions, also after using outside the screen becomes prone to fading, also the plastic cover cracks very easily, ive since come to the conclusion that Nokia didnt think about there fans and put this design together very quickly resullting in a massive failure, as they have been overtaken in the market by Sony Ericsson lately and Sony sit top of the tree by some distance now, there phones are far superior in quality and features, im thinking of switching to sony! sorry peeps but the Nokia N95 is one of the worst phones ever released by Nokia.:-(

Hi guys!i really appreciate The N 95 options but i do not like the SHAPE as slider, why do they make the same option without slider like N73 or N 800,so i still using the black N73 anyways i hope it will come soon!

Well I dont have my N95 yet. Will have it this evening and will post an honest review after a few days.
It is pretty obvious to me that several of the so called reviewers here do not actually have the N95 at all. They are just flamers.

To Filipino guy: Kumusta Dong, Remember that lots of the Nokia phones sold in Philippines are fake. At PHP31,000, I expect it is fake. I have a friend who has told me that they cost 40,000, in Cebu for genuine n95's.

The GPS itself will work anywhere with line of sight to the sky, but there are lots cities around the world where there are no digital maps.

Am going to The Visayas later his week and i will report back my findings. Will be in the NCR region for a night at the end of the month.
