Got the N95 yesterday, and I like it. Whoever said the sound is not loud enough was nuts. Its good. I am waiting on the 4gig micro sd to be released soon. Over all a very nice phone. Only issue is the keys. Wish it had a keyboard or at least touch screen.

I waited a fair while for this, taking advantage of the Phones 4U 28 day exchange policy and continuing to use my treo 650 until launch. Despite P4U's initially dreadful service I finally got one on the weekend. First impressions are that the unit is a tad fragile, but then I'm comparing it to my Treo which is built like a tank. I'm pretty impressed by the camera (I'm a professional photographer and have never really bothered about this feature on 'phones) which is fine for party pictures, and the radio is better than the one on my ipod. The slider doesn't really look like its going to last, but we'll wait and see. The navigation isn't bad having come from a decade of using a palm in one form or another, though the operating system seems a bit flakey. I've had it die on me completely until I hooked it up to charge (and showed that it was full about 20 seconds later, so it hadn't gone flat) and it reboots constantly when coming out of applications like web browsing and sat nav. When I first tried the web on my wireless network I was dead impressed with how quickly it loaded the first page. Unfortunately I've never got beyond the first page of any site as it just seems to hang for an eternity. The sat nav sounds cool - though it takes a good few minutes to orientate itself, and seems to just zoom in on a patch of unmapped terrain unless you are connected to the network. If I'm honest, I'd have preferred a wireless treo with palm OS, but seeing as no-one wants to sell that product in the UK I guess this was the next best thing (mac user and and I really don't want anything to do with m'soft if I can help it). They are going on e-bay for a pretty penny - I did consider just listing it and making about £400 profit, but where's the fun in that! ;-)

will a change in browser, say the opera browser, improve browsing the net on the nokia n95, will it let me view stuff like video's, or is there an alternative browser or some software that will help me to view media rich websites or sites that include video? Thxs!!!!!

Well, like my N70, it had some bugs when I bought it, but it's symbian, not a java phone, so...you use Windows knowing it can freeze or shut down, don't you? So...it's the same thing, and after some firmware upgrades, my N70 got really better, I think it's gonna be the same thing with the N95, by the way, does anyone have this problem, when I use the N95 with mu bluetooth car stereo, after I unpair them I cannot hear the music from the stereo speakers, only through the headset speaker, only after I reboot it I can hear it from the stereo speakers again.
Somebody said it's heavy...holy crap, u must be very weak and skinny.
And the sound quality, I dare any sony Ericcson user to compare it. even with the equalizer flat the sound is amazing.
                    take care...

should you download the f-secure software for mobiles that comes included with this phone? I've heard that this software uses up a lot of the nokia n95 memory and i mean A LOT. Is this software worth downloading? (btw, u gt 6 months free, 1.50 thereafter)

Like everyone I waited for the N95 eagerly and for a long time too.I was very disappointed today when I held it for the first time today in a Nokia shop. The build quality is the WORSE I have seen from Nokia.
The shiny chrome plated trimmings were cheap looking and tacky and the overall build quality is nowhere as good as the N80's solid feel and build.Needless to say I did not buy the N95.

                            :)

I looked at SE/Nokia stand-by/talk time for smartphones:

                            N95 220/6,5
                            N73 350/6
                            E90 330/5

                            W950 340/7,5
                            M608 340/7

N95 stand-by time seem a bit shorter than the other, but otherwise I don't see any big differences! The long talk time for N95 indicates that it is comparable to SE when used frequently (talk, SMS, web-browsing,...).

If you are talking about other than smart phones, then Nokia's cheapest(?) phone has a good 380/5,2 hours!! I'm talking about Nokia 1110...

Does anyone have a loose slider when it's open?Especially when you press the right soft key or the end key.BAD DESIGN NOKIA.
Samsung are still the kings of the slide phone.

does anyone know if there is a difference in the way this operates with a chinese keypad or english keypad, meaning does it matter? also which color is most preferred the plum or sand?

the battery of the phone is not that great about 2 days per charge, but you do have to wear them in before you see the real performance of this wicked unit!!!!

but to be frank for what it dose i'm more then happy to put it on charge 2 more times a week
