i just wanted to share this with you,,the Philips Xenium 9@9f has 30 days standby time with 8.5 hrs talktime. Why say this well the n95 has all the bell and whistles and is top of the class but i think this also shud be commended for excellent effort into the mobile industry for a superb effort and to say that things are at last going in the better direction.

This is by far the best phone ive used till now:-
Here is what i think about it

1.The camera is simply superb in daylight(but they could have done better with a xenon flash),what i personally think is that if the added a xenon flash then that would reduce the battery life even further. The pictures taken in the night arent that great.

2.The display on the phone with its 16million colors is fantastic,no other better words to describe it,video clarity is superb on the phone as well as when plugged into the tv.

3.The applications preinstalled are quite good.

4.As an mp3 player ,the plus point is the 3.5mm jack to use ur own earphones, the music clarity is clear but not loud so as an outdoor mp3 player it doesnt match my n-90 at all.

5.gps works pretty fine but it can incur charges when using 3g or gprs, wat i wud suggest is to download the maps on ur computer and copy them to ur mem card.Gps aint accurate as well ,i guess its not the case for everybody though.

6.If ur a heavy user then i would suggest you to buy a spare battery as the battery wont last.

7.the build of the phone feels cheap but it still looks classy.

8.the slider seems a bit flimsy and since there is no spring action thats a minus point.

9.the phone isnt big at all.for all the features in this phone fitting it in such a small package is really amazing.

10.micro sd only upto 2gb is a minus point and the RAM on the phone is way too less for this powerful imaging phone, because sometimes the phone seems to hang a bit,its pretty slow on startup especially since im using the 2gb card which is loaded with apps n other stuff, ive just got 15mb left, every picture clicked with this phone takes about 4400 to 700kb depending on lighting cconditions.

Overall its a good phone,a must have gadget ,but i think its not worth the price right now,so all u ppl who want to buy this phone i would suggest to wait a bit and then buy it when the price drops

First of all this phone is one of the best phones I have ever used. I am just writing this as all the people out there moaning about certain aspects of the phone

First off what other sat nav device do you know that gives you nearly the whole world in the palm of your hand?? and your moaning about paying £45 to a 3 year subscription???
For the others who moan about the sat nav, if you wanted a sat nav device buy a tom tom!!

The camera is amazing for a camera phone, if you have bought this just for the camera nothing more then you should have bought a stand alone camera, This is a phone! The pictures taken are quality on the phone and the detail is still high quality when you zoom in or print the pictures off.

Those people who moan about the battery life, Tuff what do you expect form something that can perform so many different applications, Its a phone, camera, sat nav, video recorder, MP3 player and more all of which would need there own battery is bought stand alone.

No other phone has such high raitings for design, features and performance.
I think a few of you need to step back and see what you really want, do you want a phone will lots od added extras or do you want a Tom Tom and Digital camera??

        Brill phone, No probs!!

I got the N95 a few days ago in Singapore for US$580 (without contract will be US$845). And after playing with it, would like to share my opinions:
          *I have 3 phones - the Nokia 5500, N73 and now the N95.

Camera: N95 is the best of the 3. Great for daytime shots. Flash not powerful enough for night shots. Still does not replace a seperate digital camera, until they include an optical zoom, and a better flash

Phone: works great as a phone of course. Clear sound, lots of options to customise the quick keys, back light etc.(typical symbian phone)

Screen: Nice big screen, numbers on the display are big enough. Resolution is very high. DVD quality movie playback

Keypad: good sized keys for SMS. dual slider audio control buttons a little small

Slider: smooth slider. would prefer a lock to hold the slider in place when wearing jeans. no issues with normal pants. Other complain is when you slide open the audio controls, the display shifts to a landscape mode. but when you close the slider, it stays landscape; and you have to slide open the keypad again to return back to potrait. Nokia should have added a button to switch back to potrait.

Video: proccesor has a graphics accelerator, i stored DVD movies on the phone and the movies were very clear with good sound. Stored the same movie on the N73, and it did not work, i believe the N73 proccesor could not handle it. (average 2 hr movie in 3gp format will take up 400mb)

MP3 player: good sound quality, they have changed to a 3.5mm jack for headsets, so you can use any after market headphones. Not likely to replace the ipod, as micro sd card only up to 2gb at the moment.

emails: typical symbian phone, can retrieve email easily. Comes with QuickOffice, so you can view Word, Excel and Powerpoint attachments. *cannot edit the documents unless you upgrade the software by paying

Battery: Most talked about issue for N95. After my 3rd charge cycle, the battery lasts for 1.5 days with = talktime 1 hour, music 30 mins, photos 20-30 shots, playing puzzle games (not arcade), watching videos 20 mins.

i treat the N95 as a phone first and foremost. A phone that has many extra features to entertain me. So i am satisfied with the battery life.

but if you treat the N95 as a laptop, then you will not be satisfied with the 950mh battery.

Conclusion: if you are looking for a phone with lots of features to entertain you on you daily trips to work, or in the toilet(!) then you will love the N95

If you are looking to replace your laptop/PDA, then wait till there is a bigger capacity battery

I am very happy with the N95

disappointed that you have to pay extra to use the gps navigation, i think that is scandalous! £45 for a 3yr licence a joke especially for average sat nav and poor gps signal

Price attack, from $950 to $790 in 4days. I finnally got n95 for $800. Bought in cambodia. The 3G work great speed awsome but image quality isn't good as expected. Beside a GPS device this phone is an ordinary s60.

Nokia N95 is fantastic in just about every respect,it is lighter in weight than you would expect, HSDPA is really fast, MP3 works really well and the mapping with the realtime search for malls, hotels, airports is great however I strongly suggest you buy an additional battery or car charger (BL-5F) because you simply can not run a notebook from a couple of "AA" batteries.

Ok, after long wait for this phone finally got it today...

Let me put it in simple words guys, "This phone is just amazing"

First, when i first held the dummy phone few weeks ago in city of westminster calif., I was more eager to see the phone in action when it arrives, after reading false comments here in gsmarena about nokia n95, I just ignored the negative false feedbacks for I know people are just trying to destroy the image of this phone coz they never really get to own one and they probably never seen the nokia n95 in real life. I just took a big step and spend $600 with (2 lines)family talk plan under t-mobile for 1 year contract.

When i finally first held the nokia n95 with my own hands, all i can say was "WOW!" The looks and appearance of the phone is just strikingly and superbly eye catching!

Big plus for me is the phone i got has a very dark purple (almost black) back cover which i was hoping to get, and i got it!,Other nokia n95 has light greenish beige back cover which is kinda uncool.

Now the loading part connecting to internet is fast.No problem whatsoever on this part.I haven't tried the wlan but i alreay tried the t-mobile internet and i works just great.
                                      Again, no problem whatsoever!

Picture and screen quality is very very clear! This is one of the important part I think nokia concentrated on. Every picture I took is just amazing! Video crystal clear! No lagging or anything that will disappoint the user of this amazing phone!

Sound peformance is excellent! Phone conversation, watching video w/ audio, loudspeaker is very very good!

I'm very very picky when it comes to cell phones.

But on this one, I think nokia deserves a big big big round of applause coz they just created a very very sophisticated, elegant, super phone and I will rate this phone a 10!

Eversince nokia started launching cell phones on the market in the whole world, I must say they finally perfected one and that is nokia n95. The other models of nokia especially the flip phones are just a waste of money for almost anywhere i look seems like everybody's using a cell phone that looks like a brick that flips! Nokia n95 dual slider rules!

if you install java games on the memorycard it slows down
