carfone uk stated to me that altho it maybe released early april its going to be a different time wen they get it for simple example that its due to availability,,,firstly most pre-orders will take up the first batch & to remember carfone is only one distrubutor in uk so it could be a while before stock filters thru to the shops itself...Common sense i suppose but does indicate first half of april

It sounds like the UK's Nokia Reps. have been doing the rounds: they're telling everyone 2nd of April as a release date (provided it's all working fine).

...But the truth of the matter is when I spoke to our rep he doesn't know any more than what he is told, so could be anytime within 2 months.

...you can all wait for then, right? I mean you've all been waiting since September, what's another few weeks gonna matter!?

N95 will not work on the US 3g network. it uses 2100 wcdma for its 3g. US uses 850 1900 for its 3g. i wish i was kidding but umts/hsdpa for the US needs to be triband in addition to needing to be quadband to be used internationally. for more info look at the treo 750. but ya edge will work for the US. hsdpa wont

April fools day will be the release day for the N95 but Nokia might have been fool them selves releasing a so expensive phone,People use the mobiles for calling an texting an o.k you might you the camera at first then stop using the function an if you have to pay extra for using the Gprs maps the N95 is going to be expensive an not a mass seller i am sure an Nokia will have to produce a cheaper 5 megapixel camera phone to attract more people,£500 for a mobile is to expensive an you can even buy a lcd tv instead for that price ,an if the mobiles got software problems Nokia going to get them selfs in alot of bother so lets wait an see

I think the official release date is Q1/2007, i.e. March. It will be available at least in UK next week??? www.needamobilephone.co.uk "Nokia N95... Stock expected within 5 days. Pre-order."

I can't believe some people on here are getting THAT worked-up by a phone!...

...at the end of the day, it is undoubtibly the highest spec. (all round) handset about to enter the market, none of you have tried it out so stop picking holes in it's capabilities before anyone's even used it properly.

Some people need to get a life - if your sad world revolves around being elitist; dissing a handset just because it's popular (even before you see what it's actual capabilities are!) then I pity you.

...besides, you'll probably all end up with and N95 and pretend that you always liked it in the first place.

Why can't u get it trough u're heads... if u want a mobile fone u have to know this: Nokia is for it's functions and simbyan, Sony for good cameras and music, Samsung and Motorola for desing...and intresting phone could be the iphone...i can tell you this: the other cell phone producers ain't good. If u whant to buy a phone and don't regret after that keep this in mind! select u're phone by thinking what are u're needs with it ....

hey hu ever u are hu do not like this phone. u just cant afford to buy it. im sure if somebody would trade this phone to ur old and ugly n73 u would do so. u havnt used it yet u havnt tried it yet so u really cant say. ive used n73 and n93. n73 sucks. small keypads, doest have wifi, always freezing and other bad stuff. ur crazy if u like n73 rather than n95. youd better go to the doctor and have ur brains checked

                                    hi PFQR,

SGD$1500??? only rich suckers will that kind of $$$ for a mobile. I tested prototype set before, and it is sad to say it does not have xenon flash like K800 to take night shots, or shots in low light condition. The megapixels is just part of what constitutes a good camera, it is not everything….N95 has no xenon flash or optical zoom !!!
The keypads is even more difficult to get used to compared to N73, which took me a while to get used to small keypads. You can easily mixed up the “C” or cancel button, and the red colour disconnect button if you try to type fast. The keypads is also very “plastic” like, and hard to key on, wonder why nokia designed such a keypad….
                                    N95

                                    No xenon flash
No optical zoom ( only has digital zoom, up to 10 x and VGA up to 4x )
Focal length of N95: 5.6/35 mm (35 mm equivalent)

On the plus side, it has 3.5 mm audio output jack, TV out and the ultra cool dual slide design with a totally different user interface compared to other N series, which changes to landscape or portrait view when you slide to either direction. Not to forget that it supports Wi-Fi., and has 5 mpg camera.
Overall, I would think it’s not really worth trading in my N73 for this………..although many people think other wise….

                                      USA hsdpa
HSDPA will not work in the USA but you can use the phone with Edge instead. Tmobile will come out with a 3g newtwork, it won't be compatible. I understand that Cingular is considering going 3g but I don't know the frequencies...
Sorry dude,- we americans don't have the "nice" technology- yet.

it will actually cost uk about £450-600 on pay as u go which is about $1000 maybe. (about £250 on contract) but i think it may be worth every penny
