I am now certain that I have understood what Nokia are striving to achieve but it won't be easy. Nokia want to build a device that functions chiefly and excellently as a phone and secondarily as a multimedla device to a REASONABLE standard. One should not expect too much from the N95. It will never be as good as the specialized devices. Take the camera section. Yes 5MP is an improvement (over the N93; a great phone) but image quality will not compare to digital compact cameras such as Nikon Coolpix P1; Sony T30; Casio Exilim Z1000. All of which are 7MP or higher. Look, the N95 doesn't even have a xenon flash (its flash is the LED type and is not as good) which tells you that Nokia have to make compromises to keep the cost and size of the device down. I'll bet that if money was no object Nokia would build a far better device. Look at the camcording: 640*480(VGA) pixels at 30fps is a fine effort but it does not compare with Canon's HV10 very portable camcorder(1920*1080 pixels resolution). In conclusion I must state that multimedia mobile phones will never replace the specialized products, so nobody should delude themselves. What Nokia has achieved is a raising of standards and that is laudable. I will buy the N95 but I will use it as an adjunct (helper) to the specialized devices.

Do not be fooled by the 550 euro tag. The same trick was used for N93. The price will vary from carrier to carrier. Expect a nice price tag around 800 euros without a contract.

I don't think this phone is gonna be cheaper than all the other previous nokia n-series phone cause I heard some news that it is gonna be around $1100 USD.

I'm using N93 now. Good video but photo is not as perfect. Was wondering if N95 has the 3x Optical Zoom like the N93?

i just want to clarify whether gps works with the cellular operator or does it have its own supporting system

It is a good phone but the price has been set at around 1000$ per unit.In europe they are setting it for around 600 euros. This phone is going to be expensive and stay that way for obvious reasons. No other brands are offering what This phone is offering right now and for a good time to come.It is stylish and has a big screen and looks expensive and with the 5.0 camera you can retire you digital camera.Only problem is the memory. The more you put the slower it will work.Another problem is the 2 way slider.People can say what ever they can but whne you hold this piece of marvel in your hands your will understand why Motorola and S.E. Do not come even close

                                  ****

does that mean if we get a fone from outisde and use it in the states (USA) then it wont (will NOT) work???

or is it just that making them in the U.S. wont happen???

To elaborate on my last post, the USA version of the N95 was cancelled, it looks like it will still be available in other countries.
