Is GPS service only via local mobile service provider? or it may be accessed from anywhere, even where the mobile service is not provided; e.g. in open seas?

i've owned the phone for about 1 month. It's not been a disappointment at all. I really appreciate the 128 sdram and the 8 gb hard drive, the dual processer, and most of all the battery life, they make a total difference in performance. Aside from the usual functions i like to use my phone for wifi connection.. I surf and download stuff via wifi so all that power is a vast improvement over my previous phone n80. You won't be disappointed with it. All the other bonuses like the camera and especially the os make it one of the best phones to buy out there.

1)Get ur self A skin phone...its a trans-loosent plastic cover that looks good and protects the phone.....note(Its not the hard plastic)
2)Get ur self a screen protector.....
3)Im not shure how the l8est firmware digits are put but it looks sumthing lyk this....200016......
4)about ur lence go 2 nokia care senter thel protect it 4 free......with a hard plastic circle lence

oh my god its camera sucks you know that and what will you do to its 8gb it too many 4gb is enought and the camera of n82 is more better!!!

I m using it since 19 days n it got scracthed after it got stolen but i managed to get it back.
*Can any one tell me which is the latest firmware version and is auto rotate available.
*How can i protect this phone from scratches?
*And will the images b distrubed if the camera lens get scratched?
Any suggestions would b appreciated.
