Thank you so much for the clarifications on t... moreno problem..
this is one of those rare phones that you wont be disappointed with. i can "safely" say this is the best symbian operated phone available right now. it remains fresh all the time what with the number of apps and updates available for the phone every month.
all the best and enjoy!!!

To Anjath:
Thank you so much for the clarifications on this phone (N95 8GB), now I am very confident to buy it as I have gotten a direct review from a hands-on user on issues that have probably been blown out of proportion by people who DO NOT EVEN OWN THE HANDSET
Thank you once again, I appreciate this a lot.

I have high hopes for this phone. If every works well and I'll be content with it ... I'll be a staying with Nokia N-Series. But since the bad experience with a faulty mic on a recently purchased N82. I was not happy at all. This is the reason why I have a N95-4 Black ( N95 8GB ) ... I exchanged it for the N82 I bought from ImportGsm.com ( which by way had great customer service especially with Dorian)...
But, if this phone bugs out or has a faulty anything... I think I'm going to jump ship to a Samsung Omnia 16gb... I'm hoping for the best, I should have this phone by tuesday and will post my reviews on it...

Chief, 29 Jun 2008For an owner:
Kindly confirm to me the following please:... more1. The state of the slider after a while of frequent use - say 6 months - the durability, Is the slider the type one has to pamper or one can use confidently as frequent as one wants.
many people are asking this question lots of times. but the answer is NO. there is no problem with the sliding mechanism at all unlike the issues seen on the N95 (some say creaks, shaking, noises, light from unwanted places). the black 8gb is solid as a rock, which is one reason why its so expensive (someone asked that question too).
2. Can one put the handset in a jean pant pocket for instant and not worry about the camera not cooming on or something like that
NO, tight jeans and n95 8gb is not a good combination. some even find it hard to put into the pockets since the pants are getting so tight these days but the phones are also getting slimmer unlike the n95. if you meant normal pants or jeans which are quite loose on the thighs then again there is no problem whether n95 or the 8gb version.
3. The wear and tear on the facia and back casing after a few months of constant use.
pls dont make up new problems on your own. no version of n95 had this problem (including 2007 early users)
4. How prone is the screen to scratches and scuffs
good news for n95 8gb as the screen comes with protection. there is a film on top of the screen. this is not the case for the n95 as the screen might come prone to scratches in rough usage. but screen guards are available in the market for n95 (8gb has bigger screen and have different size and sometimes more difficult to get since the phone is more rare)

i love n95-2..got it 2 months ago and it's amazing! i use it to browse the net using wi-fi almost the entire day and the battery lasts for almost 24 hours...i only need to charge it for 2 hours and the battery is full already after being almost emptied...camera is great, the only thing is, it takes quite a while for the pic to be saved so it's difficult to take a good picture when the subject is moving, like my toddler:(...within the first week, it hanged most of the time while i use skype, i read that in order to maximize the power of the cellphone, one should turn it off and remove the battery to reset it..that's what i did whenever it hangs, and now i don't get that problem anymore..i really love this phone overall! it's not perfect but i think that its negatives are mostly outweighed by its positive aspects! best phone ever!
