to Nokia fan: hey, well i WAS a nokia fan, all my phones are nokia, i have now a n91. and i bet i have more money than you, and i get tired of buying phones whit all that software problems, so i'm going to change to SE not because i don't have money, its because nokia is going down in the cuality/price

Any other phone can multitask, this phone is NOT a portable dvd player (that's when it's size would be a big joke) and Symbian doesn't make this phone special. I mean, SE just came out with a killer UI that's a very good solution to symbian's; system crashes, freezes, unreliability, and some times, their security. It either backfires on the user, or it leaves itself too vulnerable.
I agree about the lens cover, but it makes to difference. There's still that peice of plastic covering it, unless if you take the whole back cover off, there's nothing to protect it. Then it's just like Nokia's other phones. Only plastic, and even then it's designed/made/used poorly... Why can't they make plastic as good, hard and durable as SE?
Also, it says HSDPA, but engadget keeps whining on about this having no American or tri-band HSDPA support. Has anyone found a proper spec sheet on Nokia's uninforming website? You know, like how SE has it with the comparatives of their latest phones, and they have two versions, one for china and one for international and at the bottom they show what bands they have in GPRS/EDGE and UMTS/HSDPA?

I was one of the first to get N95 when it came out. And I knew that an improved model is going to be on the way sometime soon. Plenty to love about the new N95 8GB - Better processor, increased battery life, cool color, and bigger screen. Although there is one thing that changed my mind about trading in my N95 for the new one in a couple months. They are removing the lens cover to make room for the battery, and that's a huge NO for me. 5 MP Carl Zeiss is one of the most prized qualities of this device, and exposing the lens to pocket dust and scratches is just not an option. I hope Nokia reconsiders, just like they reconsidered taking out GPS module to make space for more memory before. If they don't, they might as well get rid of the camera all together, and add stylus to the phone instead, because camera without a cover cannot be taken seriously.

This rocks.It IS the best phone.Differences between Orig. n95 and ths one are so that everybody knows:
- 8GB internal Flash.
- Larger display (2.8", up from 2.6"), same resolution.
- MicroSD slot removed.
- 128MB RAM, up from 64MB.
- 1200mAh battery, up from 950mAh.
- Slider protecting camera lens removed to make room for the larger battery.
- Cosmetic changes to media and front-panel buttons.
-CPU far better.
It will come out in october,q4,this year at 560 EURO without taxes.That means aproximatly 650-700 Euro.Hope my comment helped someone:D.

The phone outlook is much more flashy, and 8gigs is a major improvement in memory. They have given the handset a new stronger battery but the talk time is less than the orginal. The only real improvement is memory,eye appeal and the screen is a little larger. If nokia doesnt improve on the stability and performance of the Os from the old n95 then this handset will not worth buying if you own the old n95.

first i'm going to see if nokia fix all the problems like:
1)the audio cuality(in normal n95 is horrible)!!!
2)the slider crak !!!
3)the battery life(bigger screen)(little improvement)!!!
4)better processor(speed)!
5)bigger ram!!
if not, is the same C..p whit a bigger screen and a little better battery, and a big big memory
